The Steadfast Shepherd

About Me

BIOG:
The Steadfast Shepherd is husband and wife duo Nathan & Fairlie Collins.
Following several years of travelling in Europe and living in the UK, Hobart Tasmania is now where The Steadfast Shepherd call home.
Based around acoustic guitar, organ, and vocals, The Steadfast Shepherd’s songs draw on folk and country traditions to paint stories of times and places.
In 2008, The Steadfast Shepherd completed a 6-date tour of Japan, and performed in both Melbourne and Hobart. They also self-released their debut EP ‘ The Open Sky’.
The Open Sky was well received with airplay on Melbourne’s 3RRR & PBSfm, Hobart’s EdgeFM, and Sydney’s 2SER.
Preparations are now being completed for the debut album. It was recorded in Melbourne at HeadGap Studios with Marcus Barzcak (Small Knives, the Smallgoods, Tamas Wells) and features members of Melbourne band ‘Because of Ghosts’ as well as orchestration including violins, cello, piano, and slide guitar.
The album is due for release in June 2009 and will be followed by a national tour with dates in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, and Tasmania.
