About Me

Greg Ziesemer and Kriss Luckett share 40 + years of combined musical experience in the Indiana music scene. Their live performances bring together a wealth of influences from Jerry Garcia and Woody Guthrie to Van Morrison and Lucinda Williams. From Bill Monroe and Alison Krauss to Steve Earle and Son Volt, to Patty Griffin and Bob Dylan. In the course of an evening they move fluidly from their many original songs to covers of classics, often dusting off and rendering a new shine to a seldom heard gem of a song. Their voices and guitars blend beautifully to express genuine emotion and interpret each song in a unique fashion. Their lyrics and harmonies intermingle to draw the listener in for an intimate musical experience. ************************************************************ *** Greg Ziesemer is an accomplished musician and 20+ year veteran of the central Indiana music community. A talented singer/songwriter, Greg demonstrates a unique sensibility and perspective in his original compositions, reflecting on relationships, social awareness and self-discovery, and celebrating the trials and triumphs of that unlikely hero of the American experience, the underdog. ************************************************************ *** His solo CD release, "Baptism Of Fire" is purely about the songwriter and his songs. Truly in his element with a hypnotic groove, a sweet melody and a thought-provoking message, Greg delivers his songs to you rich with passion, honesty and soul. The CD features a supporting cast of some of Indiana's finest musicians and delves into several different genres that influence his music including the acoustic, organic sounds of "newgrass," roots based Americana and psychedelic rock. ************************************************************ *** In Greg's many experiences, this Indianapolis native has performed on stage with such notable Indiana musicians as Carrie Newcomer and the late blues icons Yank Rachell and Lefty Bates. He has opened for such notable artists as Spirit, America, The Blasters, Merl Saunders and the Rain Forest Band, and Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket fame. Greg was also a founding member of groundbreaking Indianapolis bands The Spirtles and Earthbones. ************************************************************ *** Kriss Luckett has been active in music for 20+ years in Indiana as well, performing as a vocalist and guitarist in a wide variety of projects. She has proven herself to be a prolific songwriter and a talented vocalist, both of which give her a deeply expressive and unique style. Her songs come from deep within to explore a wide range of emotions and a sense of self-discovery, and her velvety vocal style invokes a sense of heart, passion and truthfulness. ************************************************************ *** Kriss was a founding member of Indianapolis-based band Diamonds and Rust, which featured Greg on bass guitar. Diamonds and Rust enjoyed regional success with their debut release, Bitterskin, which was voted Best Album of 2002 by Indys Nuvo Magazine. ************************************************************ *** Greg and Kriss also play with "newgrass" band The Spud Puppies. The Spuds have released two CD's - their debut CD, Pick of the Litter in 2004, and their acclaimed follow-up CD, "Off The Leash", in 2005.
