STREAM - 1.) Steady flow of water or other liquid 2.) Moving continuously in a line or particular direction. A stream is a natural resource that flows from the Earth. It derives from a spring and journeys to the rivers who’s ultimate destination is the wide oceans of the world. STREAM incorporates this philosophy into the creation of music, by nurturing a thought that develops into a melody of words who’s ultimate destination is the hearts and minds of people.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica on the 26th of June, 1981 Nateesha Irving knew she was destined for great things after she began performing on community stage shows as part of girl group trio DA-NA-TE. As a young teen the multi talented STREAM as she is commonly called by friends, also delved into the world of acting and modeling. However it wasn't until she recorded her first song at the tender age of 16, titled ‘My Friend’ did STREAM realize her true calling as a songstress.
This led her to join alliances with female group ‘RASTARINES' for a few years. Since leaving ‘RASTARINES’ she has made several major solo performances both in Jamaica and overseas some of which include ‘Reggae Sunsplash 06,’ ‘Rise To The Occasion 08,’ ‘Western Consciousness,’ ‘East Fest 07,’ ‘Sting 07’ and also ‘Sister To Sister’ media-thon, a charity event which was broadcasted live through out Jamaica and the world wide web.
Now signed to the House Of Hits Records label based in the Spanish Town, Dela Vega demographic STREAM’s musical future continues to shine bright. With the recent world premier of her new video for the single ‘Sisters’ which is currently in rotation on all major music cable stations locally, STREAM drives home the point that a new era has arrived in Reggae music.
Blessed with a powerful voice, captivating beauty and a charismatic personality, STREAM has managed to flood the reggae industry with music that resonates beauty combined with reality. Her songs ‘Come Away With Me,’ ‘Tonight,’ ‘No Place Like Home,’ and ‘Holiday’ featuring Gyptian all have received favorable spins on both local and international airwaves.
STREAM has graced the stage both as a solo act and back up singer, with some of the biggest names in the reggae industry and is not intimidated by fame. She has maintained her level of Royalness by embracing Rastafari as part of her cultural being and says, “I’m a Nu-Root Rasta, one that still sticks to and will never forget the fundamentals of my culture.â€
The future has arrived ladies and gentlemen as STREAM has firmly rooted herself as the next great thing to flow from the rocky springs of Jamaica. Her sound will seek to illustrate a new vibe, a new beginning and spark the growth of a Nu-Root.
