The State of Our Black World
Current mood: calmWe as a people have reached a point in history where our existence in the universe will either be elevated to a higher plane or exterminated.
Our current position is likened onto a fallen man wounded on the wayside by those who pass by and do not have or seek an antidote to help change his condition.
At present Africa has over 33 wars raging across the continent and their causes range from border conflicts and tribalism to politcal and social upheavals.
Some of the worse diseases known to man are ravaging our people en masse in Africa such as maleria, the ebola virus, HIV/AIDS and with very little to no medical resources available to help quell or eradicate these diseases.
We who live in the nations of Europe face hostility on a daily basis from their laws & statutes and xenophobic attitudes harboured by the common caucasian inhabitants who, I believe, are being manipulated by their respective governments through immigration and asylum issues and policies.In the West Indies our brothers and sisters do not benefit or receive the lion share of their economies which are based mainly on tourism.
Before their so-called "independence" from European nations the caribbean countries, like Africa, had masses natural resources i.e. bauxite, oil, cocoa, coffee, gas etc.
However post "independence" these resources were taken and controlled by foreign corporations and investors whose aim and objective was to make the caribbean dependent on them rather than the caribbean being independent and providing for itself in order to be worthy competitors of international trade.In south and central America we occupy the ghettos (el barrios) and the poorest parts of the land living in extreme poverty with little to no employment opportunities.The United States of America, the world's leading super-power with the richest economy has our people suffering in the worst poverty stricken areas, leading above other races in the national figures of cancer and HIV/AIDS especially among our women, holding the highest incarceration figures, suffering police brutality and facing a biased justice system.Why are we suffering en masse regardless of our geographic location?In the bible, Proverbs 29:18, it says "where there is no vision the people perish..".
Do we as a people share a common cause or a vison that will free us today and help us to secure a substantive future for the benefit of our children and future generations?Hip Hop music is beautiful artform which I believe is the culmination of our past musical genres, lifestyles and culture resurrected and 'rolled' into one and mathematically expressed through rhythmic spoken words.
Whether we are cognizant of this fact or not we as a people have been blessed this precious gift called Hip-Hop but alas a 'theif' has snuck-in and corrupted the divine artform.
What used to be our unique way of expressing our suffering and joy as a community has now become a corporate commodity and is now being used to highlight our degeneracy around the world.
We have now allowed ourselves to be shown as the architect of social 'break-down' in society thus earning the hate and hostility other peoples of the world.Poverty, disease, war & strife exixts in our world because across our communities we are collectively poor in spirit, at war with our humanity, diseased with hate for self and kind...WE HAVE NO VISION!
Our lack of unity is the vision of Ezekiel in the bible regarding the "dry bones" in the valley where it says, "..our bones are dried and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts".
But thereafter a 'mighty wind' came to disturb the 'bones' in order to change their condition and bring about unity.As one can see Europe and the United States are currently working side by side to create war in the middle east and Africa, by proxy, in order to strengthen their hold on power in the world.
Where does this leave us?Jesus said in the bible that if you sow the wind you will inherit the whirlwind.
If the powers of this world have a plan to move effectively on our people in the east then it is intelligent for one to consider that without question they have a plan to move effectively on us here in the west.
As a community we are vulnerable to any kind of attack from any outsider and if we do not move to spiritually equip an defend ourselves we will be removed like unwanted cattle earmarked for slaughter.In conclusion our present state or condition is unprecedented and also unique to mankind within the last 6000 years.
In order for our exodus and liberation to take place we must first look inward and acknowledge and fight the war raging within us in order to effectively fight the war around us.The solution to our problem is to arm ourselves with the armour or light of our Father, our God so we may resist the evil one so he may flee from us.The time has come for us to rise and if we choose to continue to live within our ignorance by ignoring the time and what must be done we will "inherit the whirlwind" that was prophecied in our holy scriptures.We are a mighty people!
