-deutsch- Der Caveman Sound aus Kingston/Jamaika ist einer der ältesten und bekanntesten Roots & Foundation Sounds der schönen Karibikinsel. Anfang der 80er Jahre begannen die Gebrüder Moore, Söhne eines Cousins von Lee “Scratch“ Perry, den Sound den ihr Vater schon zu Beginn der 70er gründete weiterzuführen und sich ausserhalb des Caveman-Yards einen Namen zu erspielen. Gegen Ende der 80er war Caveman durch die Zusammenarbeit mit Künstlern wie Nardo Ranks oder Pan Head und deren Hits in ganz Jamaika bekannt. Viele bekannte Roots Artists wie Jah Cure, Luciano oder Bushman begannen ihre Karriere in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Caveman Sound, den größten Artist den Caveman dabei je hervorbrachte ist der heute weltweit bekannte Sizzla Kalonji, der zu Beginn der 90er Jahre als “Likkle One“ zum Sound kam und dort erste Tunes performte. Das Caveman-Studio ist nach wie vor Treffpunkt und Arbeitsstätte vieler Rasta- und Boboartists in Kingston und bei Soundsystems aus aller Welt für erstklassige Dubrecordings bekannt. Das Soundsystem spielte in seiner langen Geschichte in Clubs auf der ganzen Welt, Tourte als Support-Sound für Live-Acts durch die großen Hallen Europas und konnte sich auch im Clash-Business einen Namen machen. Live bietet der Caveman Sound einen Mix aus den vielen verschiedenen Richtungen des Reggae, das langjährige Bestehen ermöglicht dem Sound in seinen Selections neben den neusten Hits aus Jamaika Tunes aus der gesamten Geschichte des Reggae zu spielen. Ein weiteres Merkmal des Sounds ist die schier Bodenlos scheinende Dubbox aus der während eines Abends mehrere Raritäten gezaubert werden die so wohl nur selten zu hören sind. -english- Caveman Sound from Kingston/Jamaica is one the oldest and most popular Roots & Foundation Sounds of the beautiful Caribbean island. As early as the start of the 80’s the Moore brothers, sons of a cousin of Lee “Scratch“ Perry, carried on with the sound their father founded in the early 70..s and started to become known outside the Caveman-Yards. Towards the end of the 80’s Caveman was known throughout Jamaica for their hits and their collaboration with artists like Nardo Ranks or Pan Head. Many famous Roots-Artists like Jah Cure, Luciano or Bushman started their career cooperating with Caveman Sound, but the most famous artist Caveman had in its lineup is the now world-famous Sizzla Kalonji, who came to the Sound in the early 90’s as “Likkle One“ and performed his first tunes there. The Caveman studio still is a meeting point and workplace of many Rasta- and Boboartists in Kingston and is known all over the world for it’s topnotch Dubrecordings. In it’s long history the Soundsystem played in clubs all over the world, toured as a Support-Sound for Live-Acts through Europe’s biggest concert halls and was able to make a name for itself in the Clash-Business. When playing live Caveman Sound offers a mix of all different kinds of Reggae. Its long existence makes the Sound able to play the latest hits from Jamaica as well as tunes from the all of the history of Reggae.
