Dasia A Lloyd also known as Dasia was born in the parish of St. Catherine on January 21. She attended Spanish Town Primary School and later moved on to Holychildhood High for three years where she finished her high school education at St. Josephs High.Charm and beauty are important characteristics, but affability and a stunning appearance are only components of the elements embodying the allure of fast-rising siren, Dasia. Coupled with her striking personality, Dasia possesses an exceptional talent for songwriting, and her peerless vocal attributes are undeniable.Many agree that Dasia is poised to capture the hearts of reggae fans all over the world, a promise enhanced with every song released, and she is determined to follow up on her successful releases.Truth be told, Dasia's talents were manifest when she was only eight performing items at church. I'm going to be a singer, she points out.It is a far way from her formative years singing at weddings and funerals while still a teenager. Her first exposure as a professional musician came when she teamed up with three friends at St. Josephs High School to form the trio Da-Na-Te'. The group went on to become finalist in the Tastee Talent contest performing an original piece. But Da-Na-Te' soon disintegrated, and its members embarked on solo paths.Today, Dasia's voice frequently permeate the airwaves through her hit sing Down Here (Represent We) done on the "Fresh Air" beat, a recording many people contend is one of the best from a reggae female act in recent times. This song was recorded for deejay and record producer Mr. G, but this was just the beginning for this ultra-gifted songstress.Her unique silken voice is ideal for the deeply emotional songs she unleashes. The emotive numbers are not necessarily biographical, but Dasia does not need personal experiences of others that she draws on for inspiration.Today Dasia's main wish is to be remembered as the ultimate reggae diva. That position will no doubt be secured by several recordings done for different independent record producers, which includes combinations with Anthony B, Determine, New Kids, Stevie Face, Christopher and Suga Roy and Conrad Crystal.Dasia is not new to performances, she as done shows locally and also overseas. Which includes solo acts and also background.These include Sting 2003-04, Reggae in the Hills 2004, East Fest 2004, Bob Marley's 60th Birth Celebration 2005 and Coronation Celebration 2005 etc. She also toured the Caribbean, England, Japan, America and Europe.She is currently being managed and marketed independently and is busy recording her debut album which will be released later this year.In her spear time she enjoys cooking, reading and having pleasurable moments with that special person.
