The San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra (SFCCO) is a diverse group of composer-performers from the San Francisco Bay Area who seek to embody the sound of new music in San Francisco through the performance of their own music. SFCCOs concerts exemplify the diversity of new music in the Bay Area as well as the creative threads that bind them together, creating a sound that is uniquely San Francisco. SFCCO endeavors to expand the publics interest in new music through concerts and recording projects.
The San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra is proud to present an evening of new compositions for orchestra by Bay Area composers. These composers/performers, writing orchestra works of the finest quality, are dedicated to promoting a new Bay Area style of modern music that will engage and delight audiences of all ages and sensibilities. Dr. Mark Alburger founded the orchestra with composers/performers of the Bay Area as a way to reach audiences of new music in San Francisco, and to cultivate local composers writing for traditional orchestra. The San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra has been performing in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area since 2002 under the baton of Mark Alburger, conductor, and John Kendall Bailey , associate conductor.
