About Me

Red Morning Rise , my CD released in 2006 on the Groove Trumpet Music label, is now available at CD Baby , amazon.com and the Apple iTunes Store . Please check it out!

A little bit about me... I've been playing trumpet for over 35 years. I heard Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage" back in High School and thought that was pretty cool, especially the way Freddie Hubbard played the trumpet. I discovered Miles Davis, Lee Morgan, La Sonora Ponceña, Suba, Clara Nunes and other greats along the way. I began playing latin music in New York City in the 1980's, sharing the stage with some great singers and musicians like Lalo Rodriguez, Tony Vega, Adalberto Santiago and many others. I've toured with the Broadway show "Chicago" and performed throughout North America, Asia, Europe and Latin America with various jazz, latin, and pop music groups. I once played a Salsa concert in front of 100,000 people! I've had the pleasure of collaborating with an electro/improv/visual project called "Spinning Plates" for the past couple of years -- check them out at www.spinningplates.us and www.myspace.com/splates -- very cool stuff. And, oh yeah, I've played a few weddings and bar mitzvah's out on Long Island!

Sounds Like: Why don't I let DJ Strangedub of KFAI-FM 90.3 in Minneapolis describe my CD Red Morning Rise for you: "This is a first-class collection of some of the finest, hard-to-categorize music I've heard... If I had to describe the disc to someone else, I'd call it a groove-heavy bit of world-informed Jazz, on top of well-integrated bed of electronica. But that's way too many syllables... Let's just called it sublime Trumpet-tronics... ".
