About Me

Young Greens is a movement within the Green Party of England and Wales , harnessing the energy and ideas of young people to change the direction of our society. Our vision is of a fair, democratic and sustainable future. We've realised that if we want to change the way our society works, we need to use our democratic system and put forward a positive alternative. It's not enough to campaign on single issues. Click here to learn more about us !
Young Greens stand for elections across the country and are represented in Students' Unions, the NUS and Local Councils. We aim to bring the message of the Green Party to young people, which has led to the Green Party being voted joint second in school mock elections held in over 200 schools in 2006.
We hope you'll enjoy the site, learn something new and vote Green in the next election! And remember, if there are no candidates in your local area, YOUR name could be on that ballot paper, like the Young Greens who stood in the May 2006 Local Elections ! Have a look at our Policy section to see what we're all about.
Green Party members aged under 30 are eligible to be members of Young Greens. Local Young Greens Groups may also have associate members, who need not be paid up members of the Green Party as long as they are not members of another party.
Get in touch with your Local Group - you could get involved locally with demonstrations, campaigns or even something smaller, like a reading group. Look at our Lifestyle pages to discover how you can lead an ethical and sustainable life!
Although you are not allowed to vote until you are 18, there is no lower age limit on joining the Green Party. If you're 18 or under, go to the Teen Greens! section to find out how you can get involved!
Check out our Campaigns to see what we're doing across the country. We are also active on an International level.
