About Me

The Paths of Glory finds RiverRed mainman James Francis venturing into some uncharted territory while maintaining the edge that so viciously shaped his previous outfits sound. This is not to suggest that the man who forged such a punishing sonic assault has mellowed out.
"The idea is to create a landscape of sound... my approach is the same as always, but rather than the riff being king one-hundred percent of the time, I want the percussion to propel the songs in a different, often more upbeat way and also to add other layers and instrumentation." -James Francis, October 2006
The Paths of Glory is intent on pushing forward while building on an already distinctive sound. Joining James in bringing the project to life is a who's-who list of musicians with a pedigree in search-and-destroy:
Former White Zombie drummer Ivan de Prume has already begun tracking drums for the project. The AccÃ¼sed / Gruntruck guitarist Tom Niemeyer will once again be collaberating with James and contributing some of his trademark, splatterrific guitar tracks. In what is sure to be a divine collaberation, Prong mainman/Ministry guitarist Tommy Victor is slated to contribute some guest vocals. Gruntruck drummer Norman Scott is slated to contribute some drums to the project, and RiverRed alumni Todd Janeczek and Jason Adrian (bass and guitar, respectively) will also return for some tracking. And ex-Rorschach Test bassist Airis Cerecedes is in the mix to contribute some low end gut-punch.
