How evil are you?
I've lived in Seattle most of my life, struggling between living in my own world and the one that surrounds me, but I think I've gotten a pretty good handle on things at this point. I'm a bit odd, but friendly and fun, so say what's up and maybe I'll say it back.

I find the interactions and connections between science and philosophy to be absolutely facinating and worthy of as much study as possible. Whereas science studies the facts that make up the physical (objective) world and how they are connected, Philosophy studies the even-more-complicated relational aspects of existance, the parts that govern the ways in which we can look at and interact with the external world. Science studies the observable; Philosophy studies how it is observed.
Philosophy differs from Religion in that a proper, well thought out philosophy can be constructively debated, discussed, defined, and refined as needed in order to update it based on the input of additional knowledge, whereas organized Religion mandates that there is some higher source of Truth that has objectively defined the proper philosophical outlook on everything. Anyone who disagrees or questions the infallibility of these definitions is wrong, period, regardless of how many philosophical arguements may be made against or how many flaws may be pointed out in said religious teachings; you either Believe, or you are Doomed.
True philosophy is fluid, defensible and subject to change; very little has changed within the fundemental beliefs of organized religions since their inceptions, and what has changed has required substantial effort from external sources in order to bring about said changes to the core philosophy of dogma.
Organized Religion is pseudo-philosophy of the worst kind, because it often perpetuates an unhealthy and destructive psychological condition known as the "Us vs. Them Mentality". This psychological state leads like-minded individuals (in this case, religious extremists) to find and define another group (or in many cases, anything not a part of their group) as anathema to them that represents everything that they are not. If the Us vs. Them Mentality develops to the point of volitility, members of the Us group begin actively seeking to destroy or convert anyone in the Them group through any means necessary. Thus, we have people like Pro-Life snipers, Islamic suicide bombers, Missionaries to 3rd-world contries ("Remember, reading bible plus accepting Jesus equals food!" -South Park), and Pat Robertson.
I'm a promoter and a DJ in the local Seattle rave scene. I worked at The Manga Lounge before it closed down, and I still help out with Frequency 8.
