USC Troy Philippines

Troy Philippines is an organization of young men and women whose main objectives are to foster increasing awareness of the Pilipino culture at the University of Southern California and to address the concerns of the Pilipino community at large. Those objectives are actively implemented through various media, programs, events, and social interactions with the campus community and other educational institutions. Additionally, Troy Philippines hopes to add to the total collegiate experience at USC by encouraging academic achievement, athletic competition, community service, and the free exchange of ideas with people of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
For the past 4 years, USC Troy Philippines, in collaboration with Filipino organizations from other universities, played an integral part in the planning of SIPA’s Annual Halloween event – which provided a safe and festive Halloween environment for more than 200 Historic Filipinotown youth.
USC Troy Philippines has also been successful in coordinating the following events: Filipino-American History Month programs on campus, annual Entertainment Nights to help support local artists, the reintroduction of Barrio Fiesta in the Fall of 2005, and more recently, the "Rex Education" comedy show in Spring 2006 to raise money for USC's Pinoy Scholarship Fund, their 14th annual Pilipino American Culture Night which drew in hundreds of audience members, and the 4th annual Pinoy Graduation in May 2006.
