Volunteers wanted the summer festivals
The summer may feel a long way off but here at Oxfam we are already preparing for the festival season. For the last couple of years Oxfam has taken the shops to the people at various festivals across the land. We are looking for volunteers to help set up and run the Oxfam shop tent. The shops have sold everything from wellingtons to wedding dresses and last summer raised £112,000 in 33 days. This year we will be on the road again, touring the length of the country from T in the Park to Bestival. If you are up for hard work, long hours, loud music, mud, rain, having fun but above all, making money for Oxfam this is your opportunity.
Oxfam Live
Attached at the bottom of this email is an invitation to Oxfam Live 2007 - events where you can find out more about how your support helps us in our work to overcome poverty and suffering - there will be international staff speaking about their work on the ground, campaigners talking about how campaigning changes peoples lives, workshops in fundraising and working with the media, plus much more. We hope you can come along! We would really like to open these events up to as many people as possible so people can fully understand what supporting Oxfam actually means. If you can help us by spreading the word to your friends and networks that would help us enormously. These events are for anyone and everyone interested in learning more about what Oxfam is all about - what we do and how we do it.
Go to http://www.oxfam.org.uk/oxfamlive for more information on the events. If you are able to help and would like some posters, press ads, email invitations etc, please get in touch with Louisa Lyne by emailing [email protected]
