Myself, I wound my first pickup when I was 18 years old. My step father had a vintage set of Pafs that pretty much died from corrosion. So he threw them out. I read an article about Eddie Van Halen winding his pickup for the .."Franken Strat.." he made. I figured that I could do that too. I was pretty naive...Really naive...So I salvaged them from the trash and after a lot mistakes and a lot of learning curves, they came out great. So great, that my step dad took them back! I have been winding pups ever since

I have different winders that I use for different pickups. I use a scattered wind technique that I develop over these years to wind pickups that I feel, are not polite or the norm. But pickups that can growl but retain tonal clarity

Now, I use many years of guitar electronics experience to hand wind every guitar pickup with dignity and respect for you, our customer & now family. I use only the finest materials when building our pickups. From custom made bobbins to our different gauges of wire & seasoned magnets that I charge. Brass bobbin screws and real Maple and Mahogany wood spacers. Top Quality!
Pickups are also tested for tonal qualities before shiped to you.

VINTAGE TUNED PAF When the PAFs in a family-heirloom 1958 Les Paul broke down beyond repair, Will Boggs took the opportunity to dissect and research their construction. He studied the corroded pickups and wound a perfect replacement set for his step-father's precious vintage guitar. Today will owns a set original PAF's from a 1959 ES-335 to use for sound comparisons in developing his own pickups.WB's Vintage Tuned PAF set packs the growl, sweetness, and tone of the originals that inspired them. Unbalanced coils. Correct enamel wire. Hand-cut real maple wood spacers. HOT VINTAGE TUNED PAF You can expect all the research, and all the vintage tone that goes into WB's VTP set, with the added spice of a hotter wind to make the VTP Hot. INDIAN TUNED Made for the player who wants maximum tonal versatility from an Indian Rosewood necked guitar. Our Indian Tunedâ„¢ sets use a slightly different wind than our Brazilian Tunedâ„¢ sets to achieve the same balance.In my experience, some subtleties differentiate Indian from Brazilian Rosewood as a neck material.
