MyGen
Profile GeneratorTwelve years may seem like an eternity to some, but for Ainsley Edwards it has been the length of his ongoing romance with music.Vincentian born and raised, music was a love, and soon became a passion and thus created the artist now known as Solomon Gates. He has worked with the best of the best in Vincentian producers such as the Great Zee, Adrian Bailey, Alex Barnwell and perhaps his best collaboration to date, Looking Fine with another upcoming Vincentian music sensation Skarpyon, was produced by Mark Cyrus. His current course is set towards the stars, internationally recognized status is his dream, signed with an international label, with a signature sound, and he is well on his way.Reggae was my first loveFor most Caribbean artiste reggae always seem to the source of the initial fall into the musical abyss. With the great legends of reggae supervising, the sounds of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Luciano continue to be tops in mainstream music portals, so it is no surprise that other small islander continue on this mystical pathway. For Solomon Gates it was no different, reggae was the root, reggae was the inspiration but would not be his ultimate destination. Unlike most Caribbean born artiste who stuck to the reggae, dancehall vibe, Gates moved further and soon found his niche in the world of Hip Hop and R&B.The ObstacleBashy as he also known as by friends, lives in the Caribbean and therefore the acceptance of what is termed as Americanized music often is hard to take a foot hold. However hurdles are meant to be jumped, and boundaries crossed and the feisty Sagittarius soon found the winning mix to get his sound heard and accepted, and the hit Looking Fine is testament to his creative methodology. Hip Hop and R&B make for good bed fellows with ragga soca! The simplicity of the plan and its detailed execution made this a winning combination. The PassionIm a writer, a narrator of sorts and that is my ultimate goal. Every artiste seems to say the same thing, they all want to get their message out to the masses, but what makes Gates different from anyone else? One word. Range. No matter what genre of music you enjoy, he is sure to have that one song that you must listen to and ultimately enjoy. Music is worldwide no matter the genre, and with him freestyling over a hip hop or reggae beat, or harmonizing on an R&B melody or ragga soca track, Solomon Gates has already proved that he can write and perform any genre. However for right now he continues his quest along the Hip Hop highway, and invites you along for the ride, which he guarantees will be anything but smooth and predictable.Brace yourselves for the ultimate thrill ride, not suitable for the musically timid, this is music made for the hardcore and the die hard music lovers, amateurs beware! Solomon Gates is on your radio!Parting WordsIn everything one must work hard and be focused. Keep it original, your talent is yours and thats what makes it special. Success in the music industry as with everything else in life doesnt come easy, and you must be prepared to work for what you want. Skies are the Limit, and even then who knows.
