Welcome to Christabelle Conservatory Of Fine Arts, a private school for the visual and performing arts. As Artistic Director and Instructor, Christabelle offers a variety of subjects, including: piano, voice, guitar and visual art. Students also study theory and technic, composing and sight reading. As the recipient of the Louise Amis Lawton Scholarship in piano performance, Christabelle studied piano with Dana H. Dixon, a student of Rosina Lhevinne and graduate of Julliard-and a Fulbright Scholar to the Paris Conservatory. These studies were for 4 years while she majored in music at Coker College. She has had intensive training with pianists and scholars from some of the world's finest conservatories including the Julliard School, Paris Conservatory, Peabody Conservatory Of Music, The Manhattan School Of Music and The Warsaw Conservatory. Her training goes through the graduate level in music and art. She began her music studies at age 4 with her mother, her first teacher. Later, she continued her studies with Ruby Turner, Dana Dixon, Elizabeth Newell, Dr. Kenneth Wilmot, Dr. Joseph Jackson and Marian Manwilla. Christabelle has held many church musician posts as pianist/organist/choir master. She has been an active performer for over 20 years presenting programs for recitals, concerts, weddings and chamber music. She has a gallery in her studio where she shows and sells her artwork. Also she has done portraits by commission. Being a classical guitarist, Christabelle is able to offer her students the study of note reading and how to apply it to the guitar. She teaches all styles including classical, acoustic and electric guitar. Christabelle also teaches private lessons for a well known arts center in her local area. She works with all ages , preschool through adult, beginner to advanced. Her latest projects include composing piano and string parts along with vocals and lyrics for In the Image oF and Tear Of The Veil. She is also busy writing her own songs and classical pieces, as well as collaborating with several other songwriters on their projects. Christabelle tries to expose her students to the cultural aspects of musical study. She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French, German, Italian and Latin. While majoring in music, she minored in art and dance. As a lyric soprano, she offers the study of Belle Canto singing as well as popular and folk styles to her students. This includes the study of foreign languages, speech and diction. Through her conservatory, Christabelle offers a unique approach to teaching music and art, using both her creative and analytical training to design effective, balanced, individualized programs to help students achieve their musical goals. Many people perceive student recitals as a tedious test of endurance. Over the years, Christabelle's students have presented many programs that included broadway musical selections with choreography, piano and guitar pieces that reveal artistry and musicality,operatic songs and art exhibits, resulting in truly enjoyable experiences.
