About Me

♥LEX©The ONLY place I can be found on the Internet! I'm not on Friends Reunited, Facebook, Hi5 etc. Please Click On The Link Below Before Requesting! FRIENDLY NOTICE: Friend Requesters Please Read

Born in the Philippines of Hispanic/Latin descent, I was content, cared for by a favourite aunt until she died when I was three. Then life turned dreary, I was kidnapped by my own unknowing consent and held to ransom. Taken to live in an impoverished area with mostly indifferent and hostile people, I was forced to steal vegetables and pick tobacco leaves in the glare of the sun (LOL - truly, no kidding!). I learnt what rejection and loneliness was early in life and how it felt to be let down (good thing, it prepared me for any disappointments in life!). I received no guidance or upbringing considered vital for the early developments of a child (no wonder my head's screwed up!). My education was learning to ignore hunger, to know the comfort of retiring on a hard wooden floor and feel the coldness of night (still hungry, still cold even though I now live on Food Mountain and it's so bloody hot!).

In truth, I ceased to exist. I didn't know my birth date (my own mother still forgets it some years and she gave birth to me!). My real name was never called (apart from the middle name, the others changed to what they are now). Time quickly forgot me, and there I stayed until the age of 7.5 when my mother and father finally found me after years of searching and writing letters to corrupt priests. Two court cases followed with legal work taking place over two continents. Skip everything else in between (or I'd die before I finish!) and at the age of 8.5, I set foot in England without understanding a word of English. Six moths later, with extensive work on my parents' part, I forgot the two dialects I spoke and mastered pretty good conversational English (now I can't shut up!) required to attend an exclusive school. There I excelled, passed the 11+ and got accepted to grammar school, but opted instead to go to an all girls' convent school (I wanted to become a nun - joke!). Did all that, attended university, made sufficient number of friends, lost them (foreign students or live too far away!), and there you have the story of my life so far! Although it continues and I try to get away from who I was, it always catches up and I am still sometimes governed by my past. God bless my parents.

Mixture of some of my favourite old, fairly recent and new photographs:

My Interests

Badminton, Running, Strolling, Taking Photographs, Composing Poetry, Painting, Drawing, Knitting, Gardening, Restaurants, Coffee Shops, Political Party Member, Annual Charity Events

I am fascinated by, and have interests in a diverse range of things (some so quaint it's considered pretty wacky), particularly if they're creative, passionate, expressive and artistic.

As the pictures below show, I have a great appreciation for beautiful, unique and unusual buildings and places (New York pictures taken by my brother). My favourite architect is Antoni Gaudi so I would feel at home visiting all his work in Barcelona!

Pictures of New York:

I also enjoy travelling, seeing new places and meeting a variety of people when the occasion permits, whether it's visiting a different coffee place in a nearby town, or a country further afield.

I like chronicling events (but not in a diary!) by taking photographs and collecting strange memorabilia. As such, I rarely go out without my camera as I always find something worth taking a picture of whatever the subject matter!

Friends, family and people who knew/know me will confirm I'm a kooky person! Once on a trip to Spain, I was one of five worried 15-year olds lost, trying to find the respective homes of the families we were staying with before it became dark. There was a lovely building in the background and I couldn't resist not taking a photo of it much to the chagrin of the others, who unwillingly relented to standing in position looking lost whilst I clicked away to my heart's content! (I'll find those photos soon).

Pictures of North Wales:

So, a warning to those poor, unsuspecting people who might get to know me in the future, whether through choice or not (should you ever come across this page beforehand!), I really am quirky and can be quite intense and unpredictable at times as to what mischievous things I will do outside a professional environment.

People who aren't strong enough to handle these traits have/should cut the acquaintance short as I dislike having too many disappointments in life which can be easily prevented.

Mixture of photographed places:

I'd like to meet:

Those in my Heroes section - Sir Winston Churchill, Nicola Horlick, Lord Michael Ashcroft and Audrey Hepburn. Also, Mother Teresa and others who have greatly contributed to society.

Failing those, it would be nice to meet my soulmate if I have one in this lifetime, wherever and whoever s/he is. More realistically, interesting and all kinds of people who have something to contribute.

N.B. I'm a very giving, sensitive and playful person so...No users, abusers, losers, backstabbers, head-f***ers, bulls*****rs, and others of that sort who'll mess me around. I've met so many of them and would rather I didn't.

Instead, please could I meet genuine, warm, understanding, accommodating, friendly, happy, funny, quirky people who make the world go round more smoothly. Much appreciated. Thank you!

(Or a sad clown or something who I could cheer up!).

Pride and Prejudice, The Time Traveller's Wife , Gone With The Wind, Chronicle Of A Death Foretold, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Man In The Iron Mask

Pride and Prejudice
The Time Traveller's Wife
Gone with the Wind

Chronicle of a Death Foretold (Vintage International)
The Scarlet Pimpernel
The Man in the Iron Mask (Penguin Classics)

Heroes:

Sir Winston Churchill: He was so forceful and dogmatic, qualities which helped win the Second World war enabling us to be here now in Great Britain, Rule Britannia! Also, the Dambusters and those who diverted the 'doodlebugs' - pilotless planes which were flying bombs.

Nicola Horlick: High-flying business woman in the city who was dubbed 'superwoman' in the early nineties for her ability to look after six kids while holding down her job. Not to mention rumours that she planned her pregnancies so she could give birth around Christmas time meaning she could take as little time off as possible!

Lord Michael Ashcroft: Entrepreneur, fellow alumi at Anglia Ruskin University and former Treasurer of the Conservative Party who has done a lot of philantrophic work e.g. donating £5m for the buiding of Ashcroft International Business School, sponsoring a college and founding the charity Crimestoppers.

Audrey Hepburn: In my very humble opinion, the greatest female movie star and style icon to date. Not only did she possess beauty and grace, but she also had compassion with her work for UNICEF and other charitable things she did.

Fictitious heroes and heroines: Sir Walter Scott's Lochinvar, Margaret Mitchell's Scarlett O'Hara, Truman Capote's Holly Golightly, Jane Austen's Elizabeth Bennett
