Into the Grey was formed in August 2003 by former "Sarcoma" members Justin Engelke (drums), Justin Harris (guitar), and long-time friend of the band, Shane Janeke (bass). Initial writing sessions commenced slowly, crafting each song to be very heavy, often fast, and always edgy, all the while trying to keep with the "Sarcoma" tradition of staying catchy and memorable. After months of writing and rehearsing, the band came into contact with Matt Martino, an undiscovered vocal talent in the area. Within a week of Matt joining the ranks, the band rushed into "420 Studios" to cut their first two song demo. After another two months, the band made their debut live performance to much surprise and accolade of the local metal scene. Into the Grey performed a handful of shows before retreating back to the studio, this time choosing to record in Burleson, TX at the "Mattress Shack Studios." The band cut two more tracks, "Death Perception," and "Up-Chuck," the latter of which having just been completed less than a week before (in true "Into the Grey" fashion). The band has since been continuously working on new material, playing shows and focusing on expanding both their professional and musical boundaries, and their fanbase.*UPDATE*With the departure of Justin Engelke and Matt Martino in January '06, ITG is looking for a new drummer and vocalist.
