Since 1988, he has been playing in a large number of bands of different styles, which is reflected in the many influences that characterise his way of playing. His expertise includes Jazz/Fusion (E.N.P. Electric Noise Project), Indie-Pop (Strand) as well as Gothic Metal. Marcel works as a drumteacher, workshop- and studiodrummer. He released his first drum CD information overload in august 2005 (M-System) and his first drum DVD soundsurfer in april 2006 which became very positive reviews in a lot of drum magazines. Since 2006 Marcel is a part of the worlds most frequented drummerwebsite www.drummerworld.com. Since the beginning of 2007 Marcel endorses Orion Cymbals. In April 2007 his band Strand released the CD "wenn samstag kommt" (M-System). Since June 2007 he is endorsed by Odery drums. His own signature stick made by Agner drumsticks is available since summer 2007. In August 2007 he got a Bachelor of music degree at the ArtEZ hogeschool voor de kunsten in Enschede NL.
