Books:
I love Russian literature (Ivan Bunin and Alexandr Solzhenitsyn are two of my favourites); some of the Czech authors are brilliant (I don't like Franz Kafka though); and Thomas Hardy and George Orwell were my teenage passion. The best book I read in 2006 - "Medea and Her Children" by Lyudmila Ulitskaya. Last year - "The Well of Loneliness" by Radclyffe Hall. Currently reading: "Colette" by Arnost Lustig and "A Russian Journal" by John Steinbeck.

My grandfathers and my parents
