Cradle to da Grave

I am a comedian and poet, so anything that doesn't get a laugh ... is a poem.

About Me

I talk fast and talk pretty. I have been announcing Roller Derby since 2004 and can't get enough. I'm a lover of life. A raconteur and renaissance man if you will. I'm a filmmaker in training so I love a good story. Tell me yours and perhaps I'll tell you mine. Oh, and apparently I'm too pretty for prison.

My Interests

"Try to learn something about everything and everything about something." - Thomas Henry Huxley (1825-1895)

I'd like to meet:

Clint Eastwood. That would be awesome. Everyone needs a hero. And maybe the Dalai Lama. How cool would it be to tell everyone that you met the DALAI FUCKIN' LAMA?! "Update" The Dalai Lama was recently in Madison but I did NOT get a chance to meet him. It would have been pretty cool thought. And lastly, you. I'd like to meet you.

Music:

Anything but new country. Period

Movies:

I love movies. Good ones, bad ones, arthouse, powerhouse. Kubrick. Anything by Kurosawa or Anderson(either). The Cremaster Cycle. How can one decide? The darker the better. Films are my passion and I believe they can be one of the purest forms of expression. They can also be complete crap. I'm talkin' to you 'Troll 2'.

Television:

Straight up Twilight Zone. That show scared the hell outta me when I was a kid. But I think it also encouraged my curiosity and sense of wonderment. Also I will DESTROY you if we battle in an 80's TV trivia tournament. Oh yeah! Bring it!!

Books:

Who has time to read? Mostly I read the updated WFTDA rules. The last good book I attempted was Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. Also The Undertaking by Thomas Lynch. Recently finished All I Need To Know About Filmmaking I Learned From The Toxic Avenger by Lloyd Kaufman.

Heroes:

We don't need another hero We don't need to know the way home All we want is life beyond The Thunderdome

My Blog

Birthdays are a contemplative time.

A friend sent this to me. And she's right."Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most fright...
