Hello dearies
I'll be the first to admit that my teeange years have been trying. 16 years of age is far too young to get married -- let that be a lesson to all you young ladies out there! After leaving Pennsylvania and making my way into show business, I have a much more interesting life. Mind you, I said "interesting", which does not necessarily mean better.
&nbsp

Well, I've made quite a few films so far, and I'm delighted to be on the stage as well as the screen. With the rumors of "talkies" coming out soon, I'm not sure how my audience will accept my voice. It is tolerable (not as squeaky as dear little Mary Pickford's), but I'm not quite certain how my fans will react to me being in a "talkie".
Who knows what Hollywood has in store for me! I just know my future is just going to get brighter and brighter!

My Interests

&nbsp

Who has time for hobbies when one is in the Ziegfeld Follies? Honestly, that man has me running ragged! And with so many films each month, I'm lucky if I have time to have my hair set. But don't you worry your pretty little head, there isn't much that can get this Irish girl down!

&nbsp

I'd like to meet:

Sophisticated and rich men, dazzling and charming ladies, influential producers, visionary directors, and any other dear sweet person who brightens my day.

Music:

&nbsp

Anything by that god Gershwin. But I also like "All The Quakers Are Shoulder Shakers Down In Quaker Town" and "You Cannot Make Your Shimmy Shake On Tea".

Movies:

&nbsp

My own, of course! But I also enjoy those of my dearest friends and contemporaries, Bustor Keaton, Lillian Gish, that cutie Mary Pickford, and Charlie Chaplin. Whenever I have time from the sound stage, I scoot myself down the cinema to watch all my darlings!

Books:

&nbsp

Well, I don't have much time to read, but I am trying to get through that new Virginia Woolf book. Oh well -- there's always the doldrums of winter!
