Creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky!

About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Swinging skeleton & spider (Halloween)

The midwest has had a peculiar history of breeding a considerable concentration of geeks and artists, plus the underground cultural phenomenons that belong to those groups of people.
...um, what does this have to do with me? Well, I love the midwest because I have the advantage of absorbing all the amazing things that are produced in the area. Sci-fi/Fantasy Conventions, Art Galleries, Renaissance Festivals, the Minnesota music and theatre scene, you name it! I'm a geek and proud of it.
You can have the rest of the world...I am QUITE happy with the obscure and fun genre-plagued state of Minnesota! I love my little hometown of Maple Lake.
I have a marvelous geeky husband and a wonderful quirky family. I thank God for all the blessings He has given me.
I have a silly and lovely job, working for clowns. Yes, clowns! I work for Pricilla Mooseburger Originals, which makes professional clown costumes and provides clown arts educational programs. It's a hoot and a half to work there. If you are curious (and you know you are), check out our website: www.mooseburger.com
The "About Me" blurb is hardly big enough for any person (even a boring one like me) to fit their personality within. So, if you know me already, you probably don't need to read this. If you don't know me....well, it's YOUR loss! :o) *laughs*

There's no good reason to miss this show -- unless you're dead. In that case, I really can't find any blame. So if you are alive and at CONvergence '08, you had best be there, rockin' it. Oh, and yah, bring money to buy CDs and support the artists. It's not only the polite thing to do, it also gets you a sweet souvenir.

Katie's general reading guidlines:
I LOVE anything that is fantasy or mythology (novel or short story).

I like fiction, but usually it's nothing that's been on the best-seller list (unless it's also been a Newberry winner).
I actually enjoy children's literature quite a bit.
I will tolerate non-fiction if it has to do with the British Isles, Minnesota, Geeks, European history between 500 AD - 1800 AD, or Catholicism.
I will ONLY read all other non-fiction in order avoid a greater unpleasantness.
Poetry will be avoided at all costs unless it is religious, humorous, or deliciously wicked.

Heroes:

Saints (St. Thomas Moore especially), Queen Mary Tudor, Jane Austen, and all my ancestors who were brave enough to sail to the New World.
