Blank was formed on May 1st, 2000. The trio Simppe, Martin and Berra had a long history of playing together in different bands before finally forming the band that would change their lives, and later on, the world. In June-July of 2000 Blank recorded their first album, Pinetree Hill. It was released in the fall, and was supported by intense touring all over the place.
The following summer recording sessions for the second album was started, and the recording and later on mixing of the album continued during the following year. Clean Up My Mess was released in Midsummer Festival 2002 at Pörkenäs, where Blank played a legendary show that was described by critics. The touring continued, more or less frequently, for the following year.
In November 2003 Blank played their last show for a long time, on Kulturkarnevalen in Grankulla. The members had to complete their duties towards the state of Finland, and after that focus on getting into schools and study, to be able to get jobs and make money. Blank was put on ice for a while.
In the spring of 2005 the sun started to shine, and the ice melted. So did Blank, after being deepfrozen for a while. The band played a show at aMaySing ROCK in Ã…bo, that will always be remembered as "completely crazy, yes indeed, insane."
And now Blank is back. Well, at least online. Blank will exist forever, and are now looking forward to playing Redding, Woodstock, Lollapalooza and Milton Keynes. Be sure to check them out.
