ABOUT SOMETHING FOR SOMEONE
SomethingforSomeone are a FIVE piece rock band from Gloucestershire in the south west.
The reason we are now a five piece is because we have new member in the shape of Justin Percival. Justin is of Iamthedoor fame and is our favourite singer of all the bands around at the moment (and also a legend). He has joined us on a permanent basis and has recorded vocals for the album alongside our other singer Will. Why have one when you can have two!!! We now feel we are ready to go with two great singers and a great album - all we need is your support so please get behind us and spread the word!!!
Their debut mini album 'Stay it's not worth moving' was released 11 months ago and (Reviews can be read below) is currently available in any HMV store, distributed by PHD or from the band themselves (Just send them a msg). The cd was released by good friends Lockjaw Records. Please check out the links to Lockjaw Records and check out the awesome things they're doing for their bands. Tracks are also availble for download via itunes. Please search for SFS on itunes store or wait for the link which is coming shortly!!
The songs on thier page are DIY recordings of newer material which were recorded by one of the band - jez cox. Please message the band if your looking for any recording and he'll be able to help you or point you in the direction of some others who will. If you want to hear some older stuff then watch the video and if you like it please buy our cd!!!!
We have just completed a full length album with Will Mcgonagle from HELL IS FOR HEROES - so watch this space!!! We can also announce that PELLE AND ESKIL are mastering our album!!! Please spread the word to all your friends as soon SFS will have new songs to get out there and lots of shows on the way!! In 2008 we're going to take over the world so say now if you fancy some world domination!!

"Three Clicks", in particular, has real breathing space within - "An obsession with a box of colours/we don't need to know about other people's lives, the secrets, the lies", sings Will, and the sense of heightened perspective, of a man lifting his head from his own troubles and gazing further afield, is palpable. It's there again at the end in "Without Other Means", which waits for a good four minutes before losing its temper, the undercurrent of tension always just below the surface. SFS make a large, soulful noise and deserve a wider hearing. They look the part too. Hope of the States, Lostprophets... Something For Someone? It's not inconceivable."
