Like Pavlov To A Dog

About Me

"Rebellious aesthetic Indie-rock, controlled, or actually out-of-control when necessary, short and original, catchy when they want; that is Satellite7." (magazine: Oor '03). A fresh, self assured band with original ideas and unexpected rhythm changes which will take you on a rollercoaster ride. At times you are brought to a sudden halt when singer Stefan van Maurik draws you in with his intimate voice, at other times you rage wildly with guitarist Lodewijk Vos who can hardly restrain his noise box.
Together with Simon Zijlstra on bass and drummer Remco van der Heide, the Satellite7 sound is complete. A band sound which is best defined as Indie-rock. The determined and impulsive band allows the songs to follow their own course, until a broad spectrum of emotions has been accomplished. Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Broken Social Scene and Pedro the Lion are seen by some as a frame of reference.
Satellite7, with their new album, shows promise that together with their producer Zlaya (who previously recorded with bands like: Sonic Youth, Low, Karate, Aerogramme, Motorpsycho), they are capable of putting characteristic tension-curves and dynamics into accessible, catchy songs.
