The Idle Vice Pirates started out as a group of four 14 year olds from Penketh High School, formerly known as Spoke 2 Soon. The bands original line up consisted of Niki Dutton on vocals, Rich Glover on bass, Luke Sampson on guitar and Todd Ryan on drums. After months of playing with one guitar, the band was introduced to guitarist David 'Curly' Pearson, who soon joined the line up.
With gigs such as Mersey Fest, a slot at The Village Hotel and the Parr Hall, the band began to write their own songs, inputing their own styles into their music. However, after two years in the band, lead guitarist Luke decided that the indie rock style was not his scene, and left the band.
So with only one guitar yet again, the Pirates decided that it was time for them to move on too. After abandoning their old pop/rock set list, they changed the direction of their music and came up with a new name - The Idle Vice Pirates.
With their new line up the band were approched by promotion compenies such as Dgpromtions, and others like it to gig for them. After which they produced there video for the track "Chalk Lines" which can be found below. The band have plans to make another video for one of the tracks off the EP. The band have recently come out of the studio after recording there upcoming EP tainted now. The EP was recorded after growing success in and out of Warrington due to gigs with Merseyrock, Warrington Music Collective, The Citadel and The Gravy train!
