Welcome to the world of Laura&Claire, two eighteen year old singer/songwriter/guitarists/geeks from Widnes in the North West of the UK. It all began with two kids with their two guitars playing hymns in church which somehow developed into something, lets say, a little less Christian. Sex, drugs and rock n roll to be precise. In summer 2007, the dream of playing their own music for new people began to develop into something beautiful, much like themselves ;)
Seven years, a few tag alongs and backstabbers and wahey, here they are after it all. If anything, thanks is owed for inspiration. Cheers lar :P
Laura&Claire want to get the most out of all this as possible and take something they love so much as far as they can. Always looking for new ventures and places to gig whether it be far away or in their own back yard.
Please feel free to contact this myspace page to just have a chat or leave comments about your opinions on the music or gigs you have been to.
Also any promoters, venues or other bands wanting an acoustic act to perform then please contact us.
There are so many people Laura&Claire need to thank. Despite the arguments, the crying and the people who just use you, there really are some wonderful, talented and amazing people in this business that have helped to make this a success.
"To name a few, we need to thank...
the parentals for giving us the guitars in the first place and letting us do this and the friends for never failing to show up every week and watch us sing our little hearts out.
Then theres Mrs Harrison, our year 5 teacher who made us pick up the guitars and taught us to 'play, play, play my guitar and drive my mother crazy'.
Next a thanks to Mr Pete Baldwin for letting us be silly at Re:Wire and giving us some advice on gigging and the music industry.
A little thank you also to Andy, the receptionist at Re:Wire for notletting us be silly and always telling us off for eating pasties and sausage roll (FROM SAYERS) inside.
A thanks to Ray, our guitar teacher for widening our knowledge and telling us we need to SLOW DOWN! haha.
A huge thank you to the Tup for being the first place that gave us a chance. Everyone there really played a part in boosting our confidence and making us believe that we could actually do it. Another fine example of that is Dave and Dave who we met here and have helped us organise gigs and record.
Thanks to Starbucks, mainly for the free frappucinos, but also for the slot every Thursday where we made so many good friends and met some really talented people.
Next is Slim who always put time and effort in for our recordings and made his dad a fan of our stuff. Also for constantly playing our recordings in the music room, in college during lessons.
The Albert has been really good to us over the past year and we'd like to thanks Ian and Barry for always calling on us for gigs and giving us some really good times. This is one place that never once tried to rip us off and made us feel appreciated.
For all the photos and fun days out we'd like to thank John Gill for always helping us out when it came to promotional shoots. A great photographer and an awesome friend too.
To another awesome friend, Juyey, for taking yet more photos of us whether it was just at an open mic or for promotional stuff. And also for creating a sexy website for us to brag about ourselves on.
The many bands for advice and support slots. Thanks as some of you became really good friends.
Mark from Unwashed gigs for approaching us with his help and ideas and an exciting new venture that we are looking forward to a lot.
And finally, our fans, every single two of you. Ta :)"
So there you have it, the life and loves of Laura&Claire. Thank you for taking a look at this page and make sure you try and make it to one of the gigs as there are a lot this summer.
Love to all, even those who think we're just two silly, pretty, little girls with guitars.
