Always be yourself cos the people who mind don't matter and the people who matter don't mind.

About Me

Well how can I describe myself? Get to know me and you can decide for yourself. Ask my friends and family and you'll get loads of different descriptions and not all of them complimentary either. One thing that I hope I'll never be described as is boring.
For the benefit of the wizarding community I am afraid to say that I am most definately a muggle. I've been a muggle all of my life and only realised this to be the case upon the release of JKR's first HP novel. I hoped for a while that I was an overlooked mudblood (or should i say rather a wizard from muggle parents as this term is offensive to some) whose owl got lost back in 1971 but eventually had to admit that it was only wishful thinking alas.
Our friends in Middle Earth may be interested to know that there is a possibility that I may have some Hobbit blood flowing in my veins. My great-grandmother's maiden name was Proudfoot. This would explain my appetite for mushrooms and the fact that I sometimes have to take the tweezers to my big toes.
I can say with certainty that I am half Scottish and very proud of the fact. My middle name is Wallace and I brag that I was named for William Wallace (Braveheart) but then, of course, admit that this is not quite the truth but it does sound good.
I only created a myspace account to find some information that I needed but I am getting hooked. My husband and kids think that, at my age, is a bit sad but I say that as such technology wasn't available when I was actually young then I'll have to take advantage of it while I'm still young at heart.
THIS IS A QUOTE FROM MY GREAT MYSPACE PAL PETE (SQUIFFY) AND I LOVE IT. I RECKON HE'S SUMMED ME UP WELL TOO HA HA.
What I like about you is that you are you!
Thoroughly nice, batty, down to earth, and good fun!
Keep it up Fi!
But enough about me - tell me about you.

My Interests

If you're loving the song playing above go find some more by visiting Dreamscaper's page
Throw Myself Away
I understand the reprimands but make no sense of compliments. Feel the stigma of the enigma who throws it away – a disposable grave. Hardened earth cracks but the hazard is in the thirst. So, I’ll purse my lips to the dirt of my soul, my own black hole. And suck my sense of worth.
In my own selfish way I’ll throw myself away. Don’t salvage the waste.
My confidence has taken dents & I make no sense of the healing process. I’ve been bugged to self-destruct, so take my advice and cover-up. I’m self-probing my self-loathing, lost in the clothing of all that I could be. The vanity of insanity? I need an injunction against the malfunctioning me.
In my own selfish way I’ll throw myself away. Don’t salvage the waste. Hell, this is my only escape. Throwing myself away.
You’re beautiful in every single way. But you’ve been fooled by everything they say. Sometimes I hate myself, I berate myself, underrate myself. But the ego fluctuates. My insecurity is a flaw in me & it claws for all to see. He’s too much to take – so I’m throwing him away.

Now here's where I'll end up sounding like a right anorak. I love reading fantasy, gardening, watching wildlife, walking in the countryside and tropical fish keeping but not necessarily in that order.
I've recently resumed my interest in photography. This man has inspired me to do so. Mine are appealing but his are works of art. To visit his website click on the link below.
A trip around it on the myspace tourbus is never a dull ride either. Click below to check that out.

I sometimes think I purposely omit the interest in art that I have as I consider myself to be a failed one.
But I'm finding I can take enjoyment in 'those that can' much more now. Vicky very kindly sent me my favourite piece of hers to put on my page as a christmas gift. It's called 'Eternal Togetherness'. There are lots more examples of her art in her pics on her myspace page and at www.vickyvixenworld.com.

I'd like to meet:

MANY PEOPLE BUT DEFINATELY THE WRITER OF THE POEM BELOW, SY HOWES.DREAMS COME TRUE COS I DID.Not forgetting to mention my great friend Suzy who makes me loads of cool stuff in the hope that one day my page will look as classy as hers. Somehow I doubt it though but i'll try by putting some of it on.

Always I think with my head not my heart
The other way round and we'd never part
Always I know just what it seems
That I live all my life all in my dreams
Always I speak to you and always reply
The smile in your pics put's a glint in me eye
Always my first friend and always the best
I would listen to you before all the rest
Always I wonder twenty miles that's not far
My heart keeps saying, just jump in the car
Always I think of you each day and each night
And again I just wonder the things that just might
Always my friend and always my mate
Someday we will meet and I know if I wait
Always the angel the loving true kind
That the love that we have will still be in my mind.
A Friend

SOMETIMES SOMEONE'S WORDS AND THEIR MUSIC COMBINE TO SPEAK VOLUMES TO YOU. SUCH IS THE CASE WITH MY GOOD FRIEND SY AND THE BAND THAT HE FORMED, DREAMSCAPER. CLICK ON THE DREAMSCAPER LOGO AND VISIT THEIR PAGE. SEND A REQUEST IF YOU LIKE THEIR MUSIC. I LOVE IT. THE DREAMSCAPER WEBSITE LINK CAN BE FOUND IN MY BOOKS SECTION.
Dreamscaper are an original melodic-rock band from Oswestry, Shropshire formed by lead singer/songwriter & guitarist Sy Howes in 2005. The band consists of a nucleus of Sy and ex-Neverfade drummer Luke Middleton. The pair released their first promo CD 'Shaped & Controlled' in early 2006 and have since built a formidable reputation on the local circuit, lending the talents of local bass player Dave Stokes, and guitarist Richie Watkins. Dreamscaper present a killer-combination of hard, radio-friendly rock anthems and a theatrical live-show that is fast becoming their trademark. Their debut single 'Magic Smile', has already received extensive airplay on minor radio stations. Just recently the band have experienced some difficulties, cancelling UK Tour Dates with Rogue Frequency and Blanco Diablo due to line-up problems. However, Sy is still working hard on Dreamscaper's highly-anticipated 2nd release 'Septicaemia: Poisoned Innocence', which is expected to hit the airwaves (download only) in Summer 2008.

THERE ARE SO MANY WORDS I COULD USE TO DESCRIBE MY GOOD FRIEND ERIC BUT INSTEAD OF RUNNING THE RISK OF EMBARASSING THIS MODEST AND LOVELY MAN I'VE COPPED OUT AND TAKEN A QUOTE FROM HIS WEBSITE AT WWW.ERICBENSONG.COM."A seasoned performer on stage, television, and radio, Eric's talents have garnered a loyal following over the years, and have seen him share the stage with many icons in the music industry. The new band Urban Legend, formed with Cathy Kalyniuk, is bringing audiences to their feet at sold-out shows wherever they perform."IT'S THROUGH THE POWER THAT IS MYSPACE THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO SO FAR TO HEAR HIM. YOU CAN DO SO BY CLICKING ON HIS BANNER BELOW. DO YOUR SOUL A FAVOUR AS I OFTEN DO.
Not only do Eric's songs steal your heart his loveable companion, Teaka does too. Pictured here below looking both dignified and cute.

Rick's brother James has said about him " Rick not only records songs that I have written, he also writes his own material too. There isn't a nerve in Rick's body, he knows fear, and he has no fear, the ultimate daredevil rocker"
I don't know about all that though the fact that he's never scared doesn't mean he's at all scary. No one who sounds as good as him could be. Only thing that ever scares me is the possiblity of ever losing his friendship or not being able to hear his music whenever I'd like to. You can listen too by either clicking on the pic above or the banner below. Go on I dare you ha ha.

Rick has recently started another profile for his acoustic music which he has called Rick Page Unplugged. Well worth a visit and well worth adding this talented and lovely bloke. As with most of the pics on my page the one below is linked so only requires clicking on

Little Bigfire Records is a small indie label based in Surrey, United Kingdom. We are music fans and so believe that music should be created by fans for fans. We started Little Bigfire purely because we had a firm belief that there is music out there that is not being heard that should be. Stardom is one thing, but artistic integrity is another... and a rock star with artistic integrity is a super hero as far as Little Bigfire Records is concerned.

In James's own words "I've learned that if you speak your mind and always be honest you'll have more enemies than you could believe... I have also learned that apologies don't come from weak people."
So it won't surprise anyone that knows me that I really like this bloke. I really like his music too and you can visit his page by clicking on either his pic above or the banner below.

James has also kindly shared with us on myspace his acoustic work. This page can be accessed by clicking on the pic below. Both pages are well worth a visit.

Music:

There's Ignorance of course a lively and talented band that my son Paul just happens to play with.

Too many bands to list. I listen exclusively to Kerrang radio so that sort of gives the game away.
And now this radio station too.

My favourite composer is Ennio Morricone but I have recently started to enjoy the compositions of this amazingly talented guitarist, Matthew Sear. His page can be accessed by clicking on his pic or banner below.

I have chosen Lynrd's Skynrd's Freebird for my funeral of sorts and hope the addition will remind those responsible for it's playing (or else I'll haunt them).
Imagine a myspace music mega festival where artists and people could meet up and enjoy the musical talent contained within this cyberspace with a real event atmosphere. Nothing is impossibe. Click demand it Click on blue open air music fest petition Click on yellow demand me Add your country.

Movies:

Movies of my favourite books are usually a bit of a let down but still good in their own right. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, of course, the Harry Potter movies, any spagetti westerns directed by Sergio Leone (with music by Ennio Morricone of course), the Matrix, the Green Mile, Meet Joe Black, Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo (hilarious) and i think I'll have to add the others as I remember them.
Anything that my son, Richie has made of course. Clips of his films can be seen on his film profile page 'Quimbyco Productions'. The page can be accessed by clicking on the banner below.

Television:

It seems that I may have given up this pastime. I do look at it occasionally but mostly just to check to see if it needs dusting.
Mind you if these guys were on tv I'd definately turn it on. Tempest are a brilliant band and you can check out their myspace profile (and listen too give your ears a treat) by clicking on their banners or the pic of them below.

Back in the days when I watched tv I often saw this man below on it. Don Fardon is responsible for one of my all time favourite songs 'Indian Reservation'. You can hear it too on his page by clicking on the pic below.

I had to have this pic on as I owned a few of these once. Wish I still did but I can hear some of them on his page which you can too if you click on the pic.

Books:

To Kill a Mockingbird, The Lord of the Rings, Pride and Prejudice, all the Harry Potters, the Dark Materials Trilogy, the Dragons of Pern Series, the Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit and many others. And if you think these are mainly kids books.....'do I look bothered?' ha ha.

I have recently found another favourite book on a web page and have spent quality time reading it frequently. You can do it too by clicking on the banner below which will take you directly to the website and a very good read.

You're Watership Down!
by Richard Adams
Though many think of you as a bit young, even childish, you're actually incredibly deep and complex. You show people the need to rethink their assumptions, and confront them on everything from how they think to where they build their houses. You might be one of the greatest people of all time. You'd be recognized as such if you weren't always talking about talking rabbits.
Take the Book Quiz at the Blue Pyramid .

Heroes:

I have decided to choose only 3 on the basis of 'dead, alive and never alive' but I'm changing the order around.

My grandfather Joseph William Proudfoot Noble was the only positive male influence I had in my life until I lost him a couple of months before my 13th birthday. He was my grandad, father, playmate and protector all rolled into one.
Atticus Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird) had a profound affect upon the way I deal with other people. He may be a fictional character but he's very real to me.
Michael Walsh (see below and opposite) is one of the bravest and nicest people I know. I say 'know' but I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting him but hope that I rectify that within my lifetime.
No kind action ever stops with itself.
One kind action leads to another.
Good example is followed.
A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.
The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves.
