However, judging from the tests I've taken and posted on my profile, it would seem that I am a risk-taking, lonely, hedonistic, Rocky Road flavored, blue crayon colored, disturbingly profound vampire with sparkling eyes who lacks an ability or willingness to commit to any particular belief system, follows my passion, is inspired by American "sleaziness", still believes in fairies, plays well with werewolves, is not willing to settle for an ordinary life, but offers everlasting love....Just what DOES that all reveal about me??? If you know, please advise! :)
PROFILESENSATIONS.COM Aside from those descriptors, I am very friendly, warm, and genuine. I hate pretense and pompousness. I appreciate both the very tacky/absurd and a good many things tasteful - DIVERSITY IS GOOD!!! I can be very serious and, also, very silly.

I have a MAD PASSION for MUSIC!!! I appreciate the the beauty of the art form inherent in itself, the emotions it can evoke, the sentiments it expresses, the political statements it can reveal, and the art of poetry it exposes.

I have an Master's degree in social anthropology from The Queen's University(1996), in Belfast, Northern Ireland . My dissertation evolved around the political discourse of the politics and emotions involved within the debate of land rights and identity among the U.S. territory of Guam's political hierarchy, the United States government, the United States military presence, and the indigenous Chamorro people living on the island. Both during and since my studies, I've seen so many instances of politics intertwined with religion, government, indigenous peoples; in-fighting over which faction of people actually has the right to call themselves "indigenous people"; and questioning exactly which (of all the self-proclaimed "indigenous people") has the right to land ownership (though I've wondered many a time if people can actually "own" a piece of the Earth). It's often frustrating to observe and to be active within such conflicts, but it is sometimes a necessary evil - if we don't work towards resolving these conflicts,

I am a relatively well-traveled person. I was brought up in Illinois, then moved to California, and after came Georgia, Guam, Dublin in The Republic of Ireland, Belfast in Northern Ireland, Guam (again), the small Pacific island of Majuro, the North East of England , California (once more), and am now back where I started - in Illinois. And, I've found my way to many points of the world in between settling in my more "permanent" abodes. I studied "pub culture" in Dublin and Sunderland (Tyne and Wear, England), in an attempt to complete a PhD. programme in Sheffied. I based my thesis on the significance in the way people of a particular community interacted with their local pubs; acquired part of their identity and their sense of community from both/either the pubs in which they were patrons and/or the groups of people with which they affiliated themselves; and how, in many ways, local pubs have replaced "the church" as a means of developing a sense of identity and community. But, ALAS, I lost funding, and the Phd. never came to fruition. (It was nice while it lasted: the Guinness was most excellent,
I got this Sexy Comment from commentsplanet.com! the local music was phenomenal, and all of my bar bills were tax deductible! - IT WAS A BRILLIANT PLAN, IF I DO SAY SO, MYSELF! (And, I must add many thanks to Paddy Murrdoch, the then-manager of The Liffey Bar on Eden Quay in Dublin and everyone at Rosey Malone's - now defunct :( - and The Borough, both in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear in England.) Having participated in pub related activities (AHEM..), I have learned TWO VERY WISE LESSONS, IN PARTICULAR:

Now, I am more focused on music and its relativity to personal identity and am also concentrating on working with various folks in my neighborhood; which has it's fair share of alcoholics, crack houses, prostitutes, religious organizations, neighborhood watchdogs, a rather large homeless population, and breadlines (then again, diversity is not necessarily good). I try (as best I can) to help them to realize that there is life beyond "the neighborhood"; that not everyone who gives something or some part of themselves to them wants something in return; that they can become more than what society stereotypes and, often, predisposes them to become; that they have so much more potential than they give themselves credit for having; that there are magical wonders throughout the world (even amongst the smallest of wild flowers in the local park proudly staking their ground amid the drunken brown-baggers, highly questionable drug dealers, and the lovely ladies of the night); and that there is an inherent beauty and comfort in the art of the written word, books, and MUSIC of any sort (and how these can help develop, define, and reassure them of their sense of identity). I try my best to make a difference in my small ways.

You Are A Vampire
You have a real thirst for bliss, and you consider yourself a true hedonist.
And you're not afraid to walk alone in life, if it means getting what you truly crave.
You truly enjoy entrancing people. Not to mention the ensuing pleasures of the flesh.
Your tastes have been called decadent and bizarre. You usually give in to your temptations, no matter how primal

Your greatest power: Your flawless ability to seduce and charm

Your greatest weakness: Human flesh

You play well with: Werewolves What Kind of Monster Are You
