Band Members:Paul Phillips
GUITAR
"Hey there, I'm Paul! I've been Ignorance's guitarist for about 2 years, and I've loved every minute! You can usually spot me nancing about with my snazzy black Fender Stratocaster, waving my hair habitually. What can I say, it's part of my act, lol! But it's all about the music at the end of the day, so when it's time to play, plug me in, distort the sound, turn it up and I'm ready to go!"
Paul's influences include Iron Maiden (Dave Murrey), Black Sabbath, Bullet for my Valentine and Nightwish.
Jack Elliott
BASS GUITAR
"Laying down the low end for the band, I have to put up with a lot, only having four strings, having a huge amp, and most importantly no solos! Still, being in the band is really fun, I wouldnt want to perform with any other guys. (Maybe some girls)."
Jack's influences include Iron Maiden, Nathan East, The Wildhearts, The Offspring and Reel Big Fish
Andrew Scott
DRUMS
"Hey there, I'm Andrew, Ignorance's pseudo-psychtacular drummer. It's tough being me, as I often find myself at the butt of all jokes. But hey, they're just jealous of my incredibly long...drumsticks - ;) - See you around, people!"
Andrew's influences include Slipknot (Joey Jordinson) and Slayer.
Paul Routledge
VOCALS/KEYBOARD
"Hey hey!! Routers here. I'm either the one with the fringe or the emo one. Whichever you fancy. Im also the one behind the huge keyboard or prancing about the front with a microphone. As I'm writing this I've been with Ignorance 9 months and it's been the best time in my little emo life. Performing infront of you guys is a thrill and I thank you all for the support. I still giggle when a wall of death breaks out =]. Hope to see you all at a gig soon!"
Paul's influences include Creed, Taking Back Sunday, Underoath, Killswitch Engage, A, Ignorance
Mark Henderson
GUITAR
"Hey ho. I'm the illegal immigrant of the band... I was just sitting around in Kudasai, and then a canvas bag was shoved over my head and someone said not to talk... Well I could hear a lot of laughing and was, over the next 24 hours, subjected to various beatings and sexual degradation... This later became known as Ignorence. And a little about me - Ignorence no gitarisuto futari desu, my nickname is Hender (You'd be amazed the amount of people who I've known for years who don't actually know my first name), I practice Kendo quite successfully (as you'll see in my profile pic) and as you've probably guessed - I'm the only member of the band to study and speak Japanese =P"
Mark's influences - hide (Hideto Matsumoto), X-Japan, Yoshiki Hayashi, Pata, Hyde, John5 and a good old fashioned bit of metal!
Sounds Like: Gritty Punk Metal, with a dash of energy, a touch of style and a whole lotta rock 'n' roll goodness!
"...Bringing the night to a close, it looks like we saved the best 'til last, as Ignorance stepped up onto the stage and stamped their punk feet well and truly all over the Consett Scene. Those who missed the boys at the Demi gig on Dec 29th were suitably impressed (to say the least) and long time Ignorance fans were also treated to a sensational performance. "Dude of the Night" Matthew Spence's coy and infectiously impressive vocals offset the string skills of Guitarist Paul Phillips and Bassist Jack Elliott, presided over by Andrew "Animal" Scott (Apologies, Ste [Ech0Line]) forming 30 minutes of punk rock insanity, that had the room leaping about like fools..."
