For him being a DJ is all about timing and complete knowledge of the equipment for the creation of fresh sounds spreading dance continents. Grew up fiddling with equipment (like his dads turntable) organically learning the science of sound during hours of practice and mastered the art of mixing. And after doing a sound modulator course from London, the sound design he did for most of Delhi dance floors was as smoothly as the tracks he mixes. His passion for sound design makes him a resource. When alone, he prefers to experiment with Jazz, World Music fused with Trip hop, Psy Scapes and Electronic beats. Indulging himself into lot of listening, almost a second nature now. He agrees learning never ends with good music. Bluffed into his first performance as a DJ without a clue how to do it and nor did his client know, that was the end of the last century. DJ San was born. Braving odds harmonically he taught himself the dynamics of sound and its effect to make the crowd sway. Developed a deep belief in the art of mixing along with performing as a professional DJ. Now he performs in clubs and events all round INDIA & LONDON making thousands of people follow his grooves. To add to the level of his performance he's jammed with musicians like Talvin Singh, Pankaj Awasthi, Gyan Singh, Fateh Ali, Suchet Malhotra, Rishi , Shivamani to name a few. After performing on an international platform, he wanted to contribute his skills of DJing back home. So he created a platform known as DIGITAL RAGA which offered various aux to the trade that included training DJs as well. That was not the end it had just begun. Within a short span of time he also got a hook over production that lead to have his own recording studio known as Digital Raga Productions and is waiting for his debut release soon. Even after achieving so much at just the age of 23, there was always scope for some more. That was the time when he thought of giving life to his music and joined a live Band in where he added electronic grooves to the arrangement which came out to be the first live/ electronic Band of its kind. Thus RADIUS was born. Now it was time to showcase all the experience of a creative head in the industry which lead him to give birth to conceptualised venues which would be also a platform to perform for many Bands, DJs and producers. STONE the Italian Lounge was conceptualised and Launched with live performance by his former band RADIUS in 2004. In 2005 gave his expertise in music concepts and launched "Urban Pind" as the only experimental & alternative music lounge in Delhi. Also released a compilation called Roots. Rediscovered. Remixed for "Urban Pind" But as the wind never stopped, he joined spirits with Pankaj Awasthi (of KARAM fame) to experiment with organic & electronic frequencies in a result series of live Acts were born, known as DJ SAN s ELECTRONIC LAB at Urban Pind in gk 1. What is the genre? He says its EXPERIMENTAL in true sense as he continues to feature different genres & artists in his LAB. He has launched two more music concepts JAZZEDELIC DREAMS as the name says its all about new age psy jazz, which also makes him Indias only electronic jazz dj. Second is BOLLYWOOD BACKYARD BEATS which is music inspired from the golden era of Indian cinema, lot of sampling from background scores & trippy dialogues fused with shades of Trip Hop, House & Trance. Also performed at channel [V] Big Concert(2005) @ andheri sports complex Mumbai. Threshold the brainchild of san is to make it into an artist community supporting original music and ideas in a non commercial way for all music lovers. Threshold will happen every three months in friend's terraces, farm houses or maybe in the garden.......
