Kostis

Kostis Vichos was born in Athens Greece, in 1975. Drawing and particularly sketching, has been his main interest since he was very young. In 1992 he took up sketching lessons in Plaka, Athens. In 1994 he enrolled in Athens’ TEI, in the ‘Conservation of Antiquity and Art’ division. From the year 1993 to 1995, he attended more drawing lessons in a workshop in Aghia Paraskevi – his teachers were sculptor Tasos Kozokos and carver Efi Rodopoulou. After completing his military responsibilities, he finished his studies in ‘Conservation of Antiquity and Art’ and started working on comics.Kostis is also a musician, in fact a bassist since 1993. He’s been into several bands, one of which is Anef, who released their first album in 1999 with BMG. He’s been a member of Kostas Tournas’ band since 2002 and he also joined Pimi Petrou in 2004. He’s worked with famous greek musicians like Maria Papadopoulou, Yiannis Mathes, Eleni Peta, Evridiki and Dimitris Korgialas. He recently became a member of the band Ammos(www.ammosmusic.com / www.myspace.com/ammosmusic), who had release their third album in October 2006. He’s also a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band, Uplift Mofo Party Band (www.myspace.com/umpb), Nicotine Stain(www.myspace.com/nicstain), Banned (www.myspace.com/bannedgr)and MonstrocityA few of his achievements in the comic business are the following: 2002: He set up his own exhibition with caricatures in the Cultural Centre of Holargos in Athens, and the island of Tinos. He also participates in a group exhibition at Limni Evias, during the Festival of Elymnia 2004: Essense magazine publishes the first series of “The Losers” (“Oi Apotiximenoi”). 2005: In collaboration with lyricist Giorgos Ginis, he creates “Almost Famous” (“Oi Anikoustoi”), which is presented in this website, and publishes it with the music technology magazine, Virtual Studio. By the end of the year, he will also illustrate the book “An A-Z Guide to a Safe House for Elderly People”, which will also be presented at the annual conference of UNESSE in September. He also participates in the program “Drive Safely” (“Asfalos Kukloforw”), creating a 16-page comic, published in 2006. 2006-07 : He has made the cd covers for Panos Mouzourakis / Mantepse pios and Manolis Famelos / psixi tou party and done the sketches for Manolis Famellos video clip (se perimena)(Scetches - K.
