It was New Years Eve 2000 that Jenny decided that she wanted to be a dj, it was after presenting a nightclubbing programme for Rapture TV and other prgrammes on SKY, in which she visited various clubs across the UK interviewing djs and clubbers that she found herself in clubs that she didn’t even know existed and listening to the latest cutting edge tracks one week and visiting somewhere playing Classic Anthems the next, HEAVEN and getting paid for it, BONUS!!br
“I started listening more intensely to the mixing and then found myself hearing the next tune of my choice coming in, but it never was, so I decided to make that happen!”
In June 2000 after a News Years resolution to teach herself to mix, jenny purchased 2 new technics and a mixer, cdj's were not really about then, mad considering her hands had never even touched a deck, she taught herself to mix and 6 weeks later she had secured warm up sets at Venus, Manchesters longest running Saturday funky house night, within 3 months she was headlining there and loving it, she had gone from being clubber to main dj within 5 months.
Jenny started as a funky house dj but is better known for her twisted jackin techno electro sets, through to dark and dirty and often plays the odd minimal gig……for this she has new guise TWISTED SISTA
Spotted by Miss Moneypenny’s very early on in her career Jenny was offered a residency at her favourite club in Birmingham alongside Jim Shaft Ryan, Kenny Dope, DJ Disciple, Masters at Work, Jeff Jefferson, Eryc Prydz, Ken Fan....not bad for a beginner. Then came Chuff Chuff, the crème de la crème of all parties. “I had reached my goals very early on in my dj career, I needed new goals quick, ha ha!” "One of the times i toured Indonesia with Boy George, and Mark Vedo-What a scream"!!
Jenny also won female dj of the year in a competition run by the clubbing page in the daily Star 2000. On the same day that article was run she was headhunted live on air by KEY 103 Manchester’s drive time Radio DJ Darren Proctor to contact the show, “It was actually Jason Herd that rang me first to tell me that they were appealing for me to contact the show live on air, but to be honest I’ve known Jason since I was at school and I thought he was pulling my leg, but within 10 mins about another 20 people rang me, so I contacted the station and they invited me down to the studios, i did a quick demo in the studio there and then and they offered me my own show every Friday night from 10pm, playing whatever I wanted!!!!! In the end I did every Friday for 2.5 years and Graeme Park was doing Saturdays, how good is that? and I loved every minute of it!”
Jenny has never looked back and now tours regularly all over Indonesia, Malaysia, Bali, Singapore, Stadium-Jakarta, Vibe events-Dubai..... Ibiza-El Divino, Es Vive, Pacha, Bora Bora..... Sweden, Stockholm..... Miss Moneypenny’s UK and Worldwide..... UK- Pacha, Ministry of Sound, The Cross, Public life-(or pubic lice as jenny calls it)-London(Converted underground toilet-small but brilliant-only for the very twisted)..... HQ Birmingham, CHUFF CHUFF-too many to count, keep it coming!!..... LEEDS -Federation, Mission, Glasshouse, Space..... MANCHESTER - Sankeys, 2 Risque, Venus..... Glitz - Burnley with Judge Jules and Pete Tong and the list goes on.....
