I have a fiancee and a son, both of whom I adore and make my life happy and worth living. Well, most of the time anyway! I love my friends and love partying, going out clubbing and basically just havin it, big time! There aren’t many better feelings than being on a night out and the sensation you get when the DJ drops that tune you have been waiting all night / week / month / year to hear! Apart from being the DJ who drops it I suppose!
I am currently trying to get myself on the DJing scene and I recently made my public debut on the decks for DJ Oz in a DJ Trial at Buddah Bar, Oldham for a possible residency for Rude at Kode. See their website at http://www.rude-oldham2.moonfruit.com
I also DJ’d on Sun 03.06.07 for Si Shelms who was good enough to give me a slot at the last minute for the opening night of ’Love Sundays, Love Atlas’ which is a really good night and well worth a Monday morning hangover! After a bit of nagging I managed to persuade him to let me DJ for the last hour so a big THANK YOU to Si for giving in n giving me that chance, when you have people like him believing in you, it makes things a hell of a lot easier!
I made my official DJing debut on Fri 08.06.07 at J2 in Bolton, for the night ’Stiletto’ which was amazing, i had an incredible time and really enjoyed being behind the decks, looking down on the crowd who were all smiling and singing along to the tunes ’I’ was dropping. It was a surreal experience, as normally I’m in the crowd rather than controlling it. Every now and then I would look up and think ’hang on a minute, I’m Djin here! IN A CLUB!!!’ Ha ha!
I’d like to say a big thanks to Andy Nic who gave me the slot and Adam Guy who went along with it and also rang me on Friday afternoon to see how I was feeling and make sure I wasn’t too nervous. They also both text me at about 4 in the morning, when I got home, to say I did really well, especially considering it was my first time playing in a club. A big thanks also to Jake Kauffman and John Evans who both text me to wish me good luck and offer some friendly advice and have been nothing but completely supportive throughout this journey. Thanks to my number one fan, my gorgeous fiancee Lise for believing in me and supporting me in everything I do. And thanks to all my friends who came down to cheer me on, you’re all mint!!
As I’ve already said, I entered trials at Budda Bar for a DJ slot at Rude at Kode (Oldham) which went well and I have recently confirmed a slot for Sat. 23.06.07 so hopefully that will go well. Thanks to Oz for the trials and this opportunity, I’m really looking forward to it.

Update - Thursday 26.07.07
Since first creating my page a a couple of months ago, a lot of the above information is now a little out of date. My slot at Rude @ Kode on Sat. 23.06.07 went well, so much so that I was given new dates straight away of Sat. 21.07.07 and Sat. 18.08.07! The 21st July went really well and was my longest set yet, from 23:00 - 00:30, it was quite busy and a few of my friends were there so I had a great night. I also got my 1st flyer and poster with my name on which I was really excited about, sad I know but hey, who cares? Ha! I also received my 1st wage as a DJ which I wasn’t expecting and was really happy about, getting paid for doing somethin you love is a great feeling! Today I spoke with Oz and he is going to confirm me some more dates for Rude asap so that is going really well, thanks Oz!
I have also today been given a slot at Relentless @ Alter Ego for Thurs. 30.08.07 by Danny Spilsbury (Thanks Danny!), playing on the same bill as Adam Guy (2Risque, Stiletto, among others) so I’m really pleased about that and the way things are going, it’s all been a bit of a whirlwind really! I’m also in discussions about a few other slots which I hope will come off because there are some big names involved with regard to the clubs and nights in question.
As soon as I find the time I am going to upload my latest mix onto here so lookout for that as it will be available for download.
Update - Thursday 09.08.07
On Thursday 9th August ’07 I was asked to play for Funkie Junkies’ 3rd Birthday! The Birthday bash will be a 3 event party, over the August Bank Holiday, starting on Fri. 24th Aug at J2 in Bolton. There will then be a boat party on Sunday 26th August in Manchester and then the finale will be held at Relish in Manchester City Centre. I am extremely pleased about this, it’s going to be a big event and should be a really good night / weekend. I seem to be thanking everyone at the moment but another big thanks goes to Rick for believing in me and giving me the slot, purely based on word of mouth! Cheers Rick!
Update - Friday 17.08.07
Today a dream came true for me when I was asked to play at Club North, Manchester on Sat. 1st September, a dream I have had for as long as I can remember. I have had some of my most enjoyable nights out in North over the years and knowing I am going to be playing behind the decks I have spent so many nights dancing in front of is an honour and a massive achievement, to say I am ecstatic is an understatement! I’d like to say thanks to Clarki for the opportunity, I cannot wait for this.
Update - Monday 03.09.07
I have recently played for Funkie Junkie (Sun. 26th Aug) which went really well, I had really good feedback and comments from two of the promoters, Jimmy R and Rick Cee which is always nice to hear.
I also played for Relentless (Thurs. 30th Aug) which again went well, so well I have been asked to play again on Thurs. 4th October. The Relentless lads are also starting a new Friday Night, once a month at Alter Ego, which will be launching on Fri. 21st September and I have been asked to play at the launch night so once again, a big thanks to Danny!
My most recent gig, Rigamatu at North, went extremely well. I had an absolute ball and was dancing, jumping, clapping and shouting like a kid at Christmas! I had spent so many years dancing in front of those decks while some of the best DJ’s in Manchester, the UK, and the World had played. DJ’s such as K-Klass, Herd & Fitz, Bodyrockers, Shapeshifters, Petrae Foy to name a few, so to actually be playing behind those decks was unbelievable. It all went well and I played what I thought was a really good set. I had good feedback from the promoter, a few people in the club on the night, and all my friends who were with me. Although they have to say good things I suppose because they’re my friends! It went so well that I received a text today (Mon 3rd Sept.) from Clarki which said he was ’really pleased with my work on Saturday, my set was really good and my tune selection was mega’. I was over the moon with that alone but then he went on to say I did so well he wants me to play again on Sat. 15th September so I was extremely happy about that and am really looking forward to playing at North again.
Here’s a video of a snippet of my set from Rigamatu @ North on Sat 1st Sept ’07, the sound quality is really good although the picture is quite poor due to it beng so dark:
Update - Sun. 27.01.08
It’s been a while since I’ve had time to update my page so just a quick re-cap on 2007 which proved to be an amazing year for me, within 6 months of first DJin’ in public I played almost 40 different gigs at various clubs in and around Manchester such as North, Alter Ego, Relish, Kode, J2, Smooth & Siberia playing for such brands as Rude, Relentless, Stiletto, Rigamatu, Funkie Junkie, Dusk til Dawn, and even Miss Moneypenny’s!
I now hold three residencies, for Dusk till Dawn, Rude and Funkie Junkie as well as having a regular slot for Relentless and I have been fortunate enough to work alongside some well known and respected DJ’s such as Nick Hussey, Oz, Adam Guy, Andy Nic, Bini, Jon Besant, Danny Mac, Ste Parry, Gaz Leyland, Rick Cee, Jimmy R, Graham Jimmison, Danny Spilsbury, Ant McNally and Dave Gore.
It was a whirlwind 6 months and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of every set! Thanks to all the promoters who gave me a chance, all my friends who came to support me and all the clubbers who enjoyed my sets, without all of those people I would still just be playing in my room.
Hopefully 2008 will be more of the same and so far it has started extremely well, especially because I am going to be playing at Sankeys, Manchester - one of the biggest and well know clubs in England and Europe. Most of the best DJ’s from around the world have played there and now I am going to, it really is an honour. Here’s to 2008!
Update - Wed. 27.02.08
I recently made my Sankeys debut (on Sat. 23.02.08) upstairs in the Boutique and it was AMAZING! It went incredibly well and I could not have imagined in my wildest dreams a better response from the crowd, every single person in the room got really involved with my set and I was honoured to have such an up for it crowd, a big thanks to Jake for putting me forward and to Jake and Lance for the set and a massive thanks to everyone who was there who made it one of the best nights of my life! :
Here’s me first coming on with my first tune of the night : D.O.N.S. - The Nighttrain (Nick Terranova Mix):
The best part of the night for me, and hopefully the crowd : Robin S vs Steve Angello & Laidback Luke - Show Me Love vs Be (Hardwell Bootleg) The crowd went mental to this and it is definitely my best DJing moment so far, to have hundreds of people singing back to me and getting involved the way they did still gives me goosebumps now!:
Another great response from the crowd, both to me and the tune : Eric Prydz - Sweet Genesis:
Just in case anybody is wondering why someone keeps messing with the mixer during my set and who he is, he’s a sound technician. About half an hour before I went on, both the amp AND the mixer blew! This meant there was no music for a while and basically we had to be careful from there on to ensure it didn’t happen again.
Due to the success of the launch night of Bad Influence, the night has been granted a monthly slot which will be the last Saturday of every month so there promises to be some amazing nights ahead. Due to the success of my debut I have been offered a residency! To say this is an honour would be a massive understatement! To be playing on a regular basis at one of the biggest, most recognised clubs in Europe, if not the World, is an unbelievable achievement and the fact I have achieved it in such a short space of time is an amazing feeling and one I have to keep checking is real!
