I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm an American expatriate living in the UK... Grew up in Oregon, then spent about 10 years in the Los Angeles area (BIG UP Long Beach, Redondo Beach, Compton & all the South Bay) before I met the love of my life, got married, and followed him to England!! I love England, but I do get homesick from time to time, especially when the weather gets dark, wet, and gloomy. Actually, my life here in St. Leonards-on-sea is pretty nice and easy... my husband is a reggae musician that travels all over the world and I am lucky enough to be able to follow him around when I want to. I like to photograph the gigs and artists and I get plenty of material to work with! For a lifelong reggae fan, I think that's pretty cool. BUT... What I wouldn't give for a nice bottle of Willamette Valley (Oregon) Pinot Noir!! THAT might put my homesickness into remission for a little while!! .. MyGen Profile Generator..

My Interests

Wine, travel, cooking, organic gardening & allotments, photography, music, tennis, volleyball, basketball, dancing, laughing, theme parks, sightseeing, visiting archaeological sites & digs, Hawaiian Islands, history and culture, political theory, philosophy, anthropology... and simply... hanging out with family, & friends....OH YEAH, anything to do with sun, ocean, & beach (especially swimming & bodysurfing)

I'd like to meet:

I'm really proud about this :)
You Passed 8th Grade Science
Congratulations, you got 8/8 correct! Could You Pass 8th Grade Science?

Music:

Jamaican music is tops (Dub, Roots, Lovers, Ragga)...but I've been known to appreciate other genres as well: Classic Rock, Acid Jazz, Funk, Soul, R&B, Hip Hop, AND I LOVE JOHNNY CASH ..

Movies:

Movies are cool.... independent & foreign films, horror (proper scarey), comedy (The Big Lebowski comes to mind), documentary films, and I epecially love lame movies for some reason... you know, the ones that make you think "why did I even watch that crap?". The 3 Ts

Television:

I'm more of a film person but sometimes I do miss American TV...ESPECIALLY IFC, The Sundance Channel, MTV, BET & HBO. If I'm lucky, I occasionally catch the odd episode of Family Guy, My Name is Earl, or Curb your Enthusiasm. Thank you Ian for providing me with the entire series of the American version of The Office... keeping me busy while you toil away at work!! Hey, I'm on Holiday... but maybe I should venture outside?!?! OKAY..update... I did, in fact, go outside after I recovered from jet lag.

Books:

The list is way to long....anything from Nicolai Gogol to Bill Bryson... Reading helps cancel out the damage done by watching television... well, that's what I keep telling myself, although I doubt very much that it's true. Incidentally, in defense of my guilty pleasure of watching television...I just think it's important to be a well rounded individual...you know... to be in touch with all forms of culture and media (this , of course, does NOT include reality TV... which is pure crap!!)

Heroes:

Wonderwoman! I totally wanted to be her... and kinda still do!!
