Rick L. Silas - Artist/Inventor of Cold Bent Glass

About Me

I chose to follow my muse rather than “security” after watching my parents, through no fault of their own, loose everything they had worked extremely hard for. I realized the only real possession that could never be taken from me was my creative gifts. Over the past 30 years I have been singularly focussed on my art and the desire to create something the art world has never seen before. I believe I have achieved this now as I have to date, invented many techniques in reclaimed cold worked glass. The most interesting one actually allows me to bend glass without heat…the ultimate sculptors medium. This patented process allows me to create pieces “hot” glass artists cannot achieve as I am not limited by scale or temperature. I have many visions yet to create. Which I hope I can accomplish in this lifetime. To see more work please visit www.coldbentglass.com and www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/s/silasrl/

My Interests

Creating my art....is their anything else.Research & developing new physical technologies. Enjoy public speaking. Seem to have a knack to come up creative solutions to complex problems. Spending time with family and friends. Travel.

I'd like to meet:

Artists who specialize in developing their own artistic medium/s. Patrons and Collectors who are interested in new art forms. Galleries who wish to represent my work. Most of my input material is recycled tempered plate glass so I am always looking for suppliers. I always enjoy talking to interesting, intelligent people. My God is not stuck in time or space, is yours ?

I find it amazing how so many wars have been justified by people who think that God is on their side and not their so called enemies.  What we forget is  God, unlike us is not caught in time...
