The band Shifarow was organized in Austin,Texas
during the year of 2005. The group consist of Varol and his son Lionell. Varol plays guitar, bass and sings vocals. Lionell plays keyboards and drums.Varol has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe backing up various artists. He currently holds a B. A. in Music from Huston-Tillotson University. He was awarded the John Lennon Scholarship for Music upon his enrollment. Lionell has recently finished his high school studies and is now making preparations to enroll in a university to study music. All songs on the Shifarow 2005 C D were written and arranged by Varol and Lionell.To this date they have written a countless amount of songs that are scheduled to be recorded and featured on my space.com.When composing and arranging,
Shifarow employs the method that best accommodates their musical style;
which is, terse melodies followed by suitable chord progressions, and pedal tones.Combinations of chord clusters accompanied by double-stops help
to shift the musical tension toward resolution within their harmonic frame.
Each section of their music exhibits a thrust toward the compositions design conclusion.How Shifarow handles and achieve that thrust is a matter of personal choice that is always guided by their rhythmic style.Their approach
to advancement is having a passion for continuous improvement,total team
involvement,using accurate data,and having a focused effect.Entertaining
this philosophy they are able to empower the selection,interpretation,and
analysis required to visualize,reason through,and plan for the effective
