About Me

Updated, June 2007.
I grew up in San Antonio, Texas and music was a major part of my life at an early age; I started playing guitar in the late 60s and soon began performing in various local bands.
In 1973 I formed Mannequin, and soon we were playing shows around town and later, Rauls in Austin, becoming one of San Antonio's best known New Wave/Punk bands. Eventually will put together a site for Mannequin for those interested.
Closet Records was established (1977) and we, amongst other local bands started putting out singles and later, albums. "As Raindrops Become Ocean" was the last release on Closet featuring a hodge podge of the various creative music happening locally.
Other bands have included "Himmel" (1982) and "Red Square" (1984-1988) who recorded one LP. Red Square consisted of Will Willard on Amazing Guitars, Voice; Steve Sanchez on Bass Guitar, Voice; and Karl Yelderman on Drums; GD on Guitar,Voice.
After a 4 year hiatus from music except for some dabbling with Will Willard and John Marcell in Easter, a solo recording was released in 1992, "Vita Nova" co-produced with Will Willard. This featured Will Willard on mostly electric guitars; effects; Robert "Scott" Potter on drums and percussion; GD on acoustic and electric guitars; e-bow, keyboards; voice.
In 1994, Fred Masinter added his great talent on violin and in 1997, Kevin Lewis added his amazing bass to my songs which then took on a whole new life and direction.
There are recordings that were done from this basic lineup from 1994 through 2000 that are still in the vault. Recording will resume over the course of the next 6 months. Some of them will be posted from time to time here. Eventually, they will be released on the MuseMyth label.
I will be resuming recording soon an entire new group of songs. Hopefully they will be ready by summer's end (2007) for all of your ears.
On the songs that are featured here, it is only right and with due respect that I name the guest musicians who recorded these songs with me since their contributions really bring these songs out. On "The Excess of Empire", Darin Lang played drums and Jeff Haggard played bass guitar. On walls of e-bows was the one and only James Sidlo. On the song, "Dragon Dreams" is Leslie West on violin and her husband Ronnie West on tin whistle. On "Redemption" is Fred Masinter on violin and John Rodriguez on keyboard strings...almost sounds like a mellotron. And finally on "The Wind in the Trees" is Fred Masinter on violins, both lead and harmony; and Shannon Linsea on harmony "ghost" vocals.
I am currently at work on new songs. With the best intentions, I hope to have them all recorded by year's end. As they're completed, I will offer them for listening. This will not occur until autumn more than likely. Hopefully also by the same period, a CD will be complete of the songs posted now along with others from the same period. I will be posting 2 "newer" songs once a month from the last 10 years until these actual newer ones that have not been recorded are done. Thank you for showing interest and listening; I appreciate you all so very much. (June, 2007)

There are so many artists currently that I truly admire as well. For those comments I hear from time to time that there is no longer any creativity, I must say that those people aren't looking or listening. They're just more difficult to find in contemporary times and the mainstream music industry has turned its back on them in this country.
