About Me

The first incarnation of Sir Adams was a two-member band formed in 2003, known fondly as The Shitfaces. It consisted of Alex MacDonald on guitar and vocals and Scott Bergersen on drums. The two played relatively simple songs, but played them with honesty and heart. A late night open mic at Farmingdale's The Downtown would become the band's first and final performance before retiring their name and acquiring lead guitarist Matt Barile. As their musical boundaries were fast expanding, the three sought a bass player to complete their act. Rachael Grazioli fit the bill and the quartet played several backyard shows under such names as The Carl Winslow Experience, Four Peace Band, and The 6 O'clock Prototypes. With a handful of songs and a couple of shows under their belt, the group set out to Deer Park to record their first demo at the home of Jake Draven, a fantastic musician and cousin of Scott Bergersen. Draven recorded and produced the band's first cd of five songs which showcased an eclectic style of song writing. A year of creativity and hard work culminated in the first annual Bergerstock - a backyard bash hosted by the Bergersen family which gave several local acts the chance to perform. At this point the band would take a break as three of its members left Long Island to begin their college careers. Away at school, MacDonald and Barile would continue to write songs and explore different styles of music. Befriended by bassist James Scozzari and vocalist Nick Moran, MacDonald invited the two to record some new material with the band the following summer. These tunes and several others would eventually become a full length album called The 6 O'clock Prototypes, on which Tim Kubart also played bass. After a summer of complete inactivity aside from recording, and without so much as a practice, the group decided once again to hold a Bergerstock bash before leaving for school. The second annual concert turned out to be a great success and Kubart's energetic performance with the band established him as their permanent bass player. It was at this time that James Scozzari was introduced to local guitarist Dan Graziano and went on to become the bass player for his band, Blesh. The following summer, the boys returned once again with some exciting new material and got to work right away on tightening up their live act. Performing several shows around the island with friends Blesh, the group found their new songs to be well received. An album was recorded as well as a new name chosen. In the summer of 2006, Sir Adams was born. After a fantastic Bergerstock III (arguably the best one to date), the band will once again break for school, but is very excited about their future together. - Ventriloquists - Landlords - Tap/Drum Break
