First manifesting on Samhain of 1991, formed from the ashes of Lydia Fortner's all female Death Rock band The Shroudettes, they have been enchanting listeners ever since. The Gothic Rock band has been featured in many underground magazines including Carpe Noctem, Outburn, and Ghastly in the U.S., Blurred Victorian Child in England, Marble Moon in Italy, and The Scarecrow in France, generating fan mail from around the world. Their videos appear in New York's Propaganda Videozine, Vol. 2 compilation. The current lineup of The Shroud consists of five unique and accomplished musicians, who seek to present a theatre of emotion and mystery, communicating with the audience on several simultaneous levels. The combination of their talents creates an aural landscape filled with changeable moods and mysterious imagery.
