Faith and the Muse Profile:
Amidst a diverse musical background ranging from Dark Alternative Rock and Electronica to World Music & Neo-Classical, to Jazz, Avant Garde and Folk, Faith And The Muse provide one of the rarest experiences in art, theater and music. As artists and songwriters, William Faith and Monica Richards have created their own unique universe by allowing no boundaries to the music they write, reaching across historical genre and cultural style.
With the release of five albums, along with extensive touring throughout the U.S. and Europe over the last eleven years (more than 250 performances), the band has managed to gain the attention of a vast assortment of music fans, owing to their constantly evolving sound: undefineable but unmistakeable.
From personal acoustic pieces and traditional/tribal folk melodies to grand orchestral production and dark rock epics, this diverse combination of simplicity and complexity places Faith And The Muse in their own musical category.
The Burning Season (2003): The latest F&TM album is an explosive blend of old and new musics utilizing organic and electronic sounds, along with trance, tribal, early punk, and futuristic cinematic atmospheres, bringing their diverse song experimentation to a new level. Standout tracks include "Sredni Vashtar", "The Burning Season", and "Relic Song".
Vera Causa(2001): This 2 CD set, released on Metropolis Records, features live tracks, dance remixes, unreleased material, and some surprises. Covers by F&TM (and fan favorites) include Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill", "Soul In Isolation" by The Chameleons, and "Romeo's Distress" - recorded live as a tribute to Rozz Williams. The illustrated 16 page booklet tells the bands history from 1993 through 2001. A must have for any F&TM fan.
Evidence of Heaven (1999): Hailed as Romantique Noir, the haunting third album by F&TM takes its inspiration from Victorian and Elizabethan themes. Remixed and re-released in 2000, this is the official version. 14 breathtaking tracks, including the soaring Scars Flown Proud, the roar of The Chorus of the Furies and the ambient dance-mist of Shattered in Aspect... A must-have classic CD.
Annwyn, Beneath the Waves (1996): The second album of F&TM is loosely based on the Welsh-Celtic tales of The Mabinogion (further re-worked in Monica's The Book of Annwyn), covering an even larger area of music than Elyria. From the powerful rush of "Cantus" to the silk water-ambience of "The Sea Angler, from the bitter roar of "Cernunnos" to the Celtic drums in "Branwen Slayne, Annwyn, Beneath the Waves is the masterwork that brought F&TM to a new level of acclaim, and is a fan favorite.
Elyria (1994): The debut release. The album presents F&TM at their inception, creating majestic, tribal orchestrations and ambient, textural arias... from the nightmarish eruption of "The Trauma Coil" to the delicate dream of "Vervain", Elyria is a fully-realized body of work.

Monica Richards: Infrawarrior
NOW AVAILABLE FROM THE MERCYGROUND!
See the InfraWarrior Site for Details!
InfraWarrior is the essence of "power from within": a personal view of primal energy and its release; a cathartic mix of Monica Richards' spoken word, and classic rich, textural vocals, drenched in cinematic soundscapes and world tribal/ritual rhythms. This evocative project, composed by Monica Richards alone, is at once hard-hitting and sensual, a revolutionary and seductive culmination evolving from over twenty years as an Independent artist. InfraWarrior ranges from Neo-Classical and World Music to Avant Garde melodies, and each song has a story to tell. At times personal and at times filled with rage at unaddressed social issues, she is not afraid to speak her mind. Guests include Lustmord, Matt Howden, Paul Mercer, Chad Blinman, Fred 'Freak' Smith, Betsy Martin, Marzia Rangel, Kambriel, Jarboe, kaRIN, Malgorzata D. Wacht, Curse, Davis Petterson, and Lloyd Richards. Produced by William Faith. Additional instrumentation and programming by William Faith. Mixed by Chad Blinman.
