A native of Los Angeles Cindy was involved in the Goth scene at a young age frequenting the infamous clubs The Krypt, Helter Skelter and Zombie Zoo. On a whim and by chance, she joined the ethereal pop Goth band This Ascension in 1991. In 1993 Cindy wrote and recorded ‘Walk Softly, a Dream Lies Here’ with This Ascension which was released on the Tess Records label. This Ascension have toured the United States three times and the west coast prolifically, sharing the stage with Shadow Project, The Stranglers, Wolfgang Press, Andi Sex Gang, Mephisto Walz and Caterwaul, to name a few.
In 1992, during Cindy‘s tenure with This Ascension she was invited by Dave Allen (Gang of Four, Shriekback) to record with his new project, Low Pop Suicide, featuring himself and Jeff Ward (Lard, Ministry, Revolting Cocks and NIN live drummer). She contributed bass on the song ‘Crush’ from their album ‘The Disengagement EP‘. The ‘Crush’ single, for which Cindy contributed, was also released on Low Pop Suicide‘s full length CD ‘On the Cross of Commerce’ Both releases featured on World Domination records.
In 1999, Cindy joined Faith and the Muse as a regular member of the touring line up for their ‘Evidence of Heaven’ U.S. and European tours. After the successful tour, Faith and the Muse released a live album featuring the Evidence of Heaven line-up entitled ‘Vera Causa.’ Cindy continued to tour for the 2003 release, ‘The Burning Season’ which lead to more European and U.S. dates in addition to dates in South America and Mexico. A DVD will be released in 2009 featuring their successful performance at Convergence 13 in Portland, Oregon. The DVD will also include their special guests Paul Mercer and Zoë Keating.
Cindy’s most recent band was the seminal punk band The Fixtures (2005-2007). Spanning over 20 years in the punk scene along with releasing albums on Jello Biafra’s label Alternative Tentacles. This band offered Cindy the opportunity to expand her playing and really be apart of a thriving and underground music scene that spans generations. During her time with The Fixtures Cindy has the fortune of opening for acts such as The Germs and perform with The Mormons.
Cindy has recently relocated to Portland from Los Angeles and is currently seeking new musical opportunities.
In her free time, Cindy enjoys reading, traveling, cooking and saving the world. Cindy enjoys all things environmental and is an active supporter of animal rights and all things eco-friendly.
