Stella Black, Singer and Songwriter, is a published voting member of the Recording Academy. As an award winning songwriter, she is currently writing for television and film score submissions.
From modest beginnings in rural South Carolina where Country and Blue Grass were a given to Arias in Lieder and Chanson in Europe, Stella is at home with multiple genres given her status as a Metropolitan Opera and Southeastern Opera Vocal Winner. Stella writes Country, Latino, Broadway, Jazz, Classical and New Age. Her multi-faceted writing style reflects the many influences that have shaped her as a artist.
Stella is inspired by many cultures due to her background in Opera and Classical Music lending her current performance and writing towards International World Genres and New Age. Other Classical crossover performers such as Il Divo, Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban have been well received by what has been dubbed the "Pop-Opera" or "P'Opera" movement. Stella found her international creative nitch as a composer attending the 2006 Cannes, France Music and Film Festival. She has recorded throughout the U.S. and Europe and loves each new experience.
Stella is an award winning ASCAP Plus new songwriter, a 2006 Finalist in three categories of the ISC International Songwriting Competition and a finalist in the ISC People's Choice Awards. She is also an active member of ASCAP, NSAI, WWSWA and AFTRA. To purchase or download Stella's CD's online, please visit www.cdbaby.com or click on her album covers.
