2 young designers trying to make something out of nothing. Raised wild in the hills of Jamaica and el barrio de Santo Domingo. Self-taught...All pieces are hand sewn, and made from recycled materials or whatever else catches our eyes.The influence for this season was "poetry in motion". My Interests

What is a RAGGAMUFFIN? - originally used by the British as a degrading term for those in the lower classes... specifically "poor- shabbily clothed street urchins". It later evolved in the dancehalls of Jamaica to describe those individuals who did not readily conform to the rules of society and preferred to follow their own path in their own individual style.RAGGAMUFFIN DESIGNS embodies this spirit. A clothing line "perfect for the woman who craves individuality...and even better for the woman that lives by it"

OUR VISION: Raised in the "third world" we have seen what capitalism and greed has done to the landless and powerless of the earth.Our plan is to use fashion as a tool for creating social change. To generate economic resources and market demand that would warrant the building of sewing co-ops in our respective hometowns of Santo Domingo and Jamaica. Co-ops run by women. That provide living wages and social empowerment for all members. Standing as an alternative to the mass produced sweatshop model that the world has become accustomed to. Small gestures€ baby steps that's how we all can make a difference.
