I am a divorced mother and Jewish woman following Wiccan philosophies of ecology, social responsibility, a holistic universe - an enigma, a study in contrasts, a lifelong rocker who doesn't drink, smoke, do drugs or sleep around. Very high-energy, high-strung, love children (play on the swings at the playground whenever I can), want to meet everyone, everywhere, and usually do. I'm at once extroverted and shy, domestic yet Gitana, a wild woman.
I have come to realize, with the help of friends, that everyone who comes into our lives, everyone we love, have loved, has been there for a reason. Some people, show their true colors, and we cut them off from us - 'toxic' people should never be kept near, they will always contaminate us. Others, we may experience periods of discord and even pain, but eventually, settle into a warm appreciation for the memories they have left. In fact, in most cases, in time, it is possible, even beneficial, to think of the things that drew us to love them in the first place, and remember. I am finding myself now in this much happier place in my life, and it feels good.
I will not tolerate people who are not forthright and who shirk dealing with the consequences of their actions. Part of being an 'adult' is having the balls to face yourself head-on, take a deep breath, and deal honestly with your words and deeds.
I LOVE dogs...animals of all kinds...and have rescued and placed, many of them. Having lived through a period of severe illness in my life, I will never forget worrying about what would happen to my animals should I not make it...and one of my goals is to establish a center to provide temporary and permanent homes for animals of people living with severe illness. When you are very sick, one of the LAST things you ought to have to worry about is what will become of your precious pets should you not be around to care for them.
I hold to a high set of morals, ethics & personal beliefs, which include utmost respect for others' relationships. Age, religion, ethnicity, and so on, in relationships doesn't matter; all that matters is the perfect 'mesh'. (As a good friend of mine said, "We're all f**cked up...the trick is finding someone who's f**cked up in the same way YOU are...!")
I don't care what religion you are, as long as you respect my beliefs. I have met honorable people of ALL (and NO) faiths whom I hold in very high esteem. I respect and honor others' religions and beliefs, and ask that people who call themselves my friends do the same in return; if you try to 'convert' me because you believe yours is the 'only way', you are not my friend. I am adamant about taking care of my physical, emotional, mental and physiological well-being, and vain enough to attach a high degree of importance to my looks. It's all about being comfortable in your own skin, and we all have different views of what we want; it's not important if you're heavy, skinny...all that matters is that you feel good about where you are. And if you don't? Do something about it.
I find life to be strangely funny...probably because of the many times I found myself faced with choosing between crying hysterically or laughing hysterically, and found myself opting for the latter. Indeed, one of my best friends refers to MY life as a "Comedy of Errors", a very apt description.
I prefer being around people who are underground, off-the-wall, artistic, caring, very into music, intelligent and REAL. I LOVE getting gussied up to scout out a club or show - fishnets, heels, rock hair - but for hangin' out, there's nothing better than an old sofa (or a floor cushion!), someone wonderful, and movies.
I don't give a crap what you look like, where you live, or what you came FROM...as long as you are an up-front, REAL person without questionable hidden agendas. I don't care if you are broke...or 'broken'...we're ALL broken in some way or other; it is how we choose to live with that, that determines our worth as human beings.
It is important to endeavor to keep things SIMPLE...the phrase, "May you live in interesting times" is actually a Chinese curse.
"NO ONE'S GONNA TAKE ME ALIVE...TIME HAS COME TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT...YOU AND I MUST FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS...YOU AND I MUST FIGHT TO SURVIVE"....MUSE/'Knights of Cydonia'
