About Me

Howyadoin, kiddies? It's your host with the most, Hepcat Mike - lead pinstripe , Vaudeville empresario, emcee, singer and joke man for the SYRENS OF THE SOUTH and BIG CITY BURLESQUE, both purveyors of fine bawdy burlesque and vintage vaudeville in Atlanta, Georgia.

I'll just throw old jokes up against the wall and see what shticks.

I'm a student of burlesque, neo-burlesque & vaudeville. Geek magic, juggling. Also into renaissance Italian Commedia dell'Arte and early period slapstick comedy. When not entertaining the masses, I poke around in old graveyards and do photography work trying to preserve images of graves that will soon disappear.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone with a passion for fedoras, cocktails and the drape of a quality made suit.

Music:

Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong,"Weird Al" Yankovic, John Lee Hooker, Rufus Thomas, Bessie Smith, Lavay Smith and her Red Hot Skillet Lickers, Brian Setzer, The Electric Mayhem

Movies:

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Brazil, Time Bandits, Hellzapoppin, To Be or Not to Be (the original with Jack Benny, although Mel Brooks' remake is fun, too), Stormy Weather, Zou Zou, The Muppet Movie, The Count of Monte Cristo, Titus, Richard III with Ian McKellan, The Blues Brothers

Television:

"I'm tired of all this sex on the television. I mean, I keep falling off."- Graham Chapman

Books:

How to Be a Villain by Neil Zawaki, Dealing with People you can't Stand by Dick Brinkmann, How to Build a Nuclear Bomb by Frank Barnaby, Handbook of Poisoning, Robert H Dreisbach, Poisoning by Drugs and Chemicals by Peter Cooper, Stiff by Mary Roach, Cemetery Stories by Katherine Ramsland

Heroes:

Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Lena Horne, Josephine Baker... On another note: Ernst Blofeld and Dr. Evil.. oh, and V.
