Scats on The Sly -- Cool Swing, Hot Jazz!

About Me

They don't write 'em like that any more and that's OK! Scats on The Sly keep those pop and jazz standards from the 1920's and 30's jumping with precision, personality and a lot of love for the musical gems they play. With a hybrid of cool swing and hot jazz reminiscent of Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, Squirrel Nut Zippers and Manhattan Transfer, this copacetic quartet will take you on a musical journey back to a time when songs had charm and sophisitication and beat boxes, synthesizers and Marshall stacks (not to mention political correctness) had yet to make an appearance. The musical selection you just heard, You're The Cream in My Coffee, was part of a live radio performance by Mallory Moad and Mike Newton on Fresno's KFCF (88.1 FM). The other songs here are included on Scats on The Sly's CD of 7 vintage classics which is now available for your listening pleasure. Contact the band for info on how to get your hands on one or more.Scats on The Sly would like to thank photographer Lenna Winther-Saxe for shooting the band. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
