Poplord

Poplord is Stan Schaffer, Tom Magill, and introducing newest member, Craig Daniel. Its true...we're slowly becoming a "real" band. Tom and Stan have been playing pop music together in the Fresno area since 1993, and are often credited with coming up with the idea of a "boy band", although they were already men at the time, and were, thus, too late. They began together with the Beatles tribute band, The Beetles, later branching out into original projects such as the now defunct Beat Reader. All the while, their love of all things pop was evident. As 2005 was winding down, and with nothing better to do, Tom and Stan began collaborating together on a batch of new songs. Excited by the results, they attempted to lure guitarists into the fold. Unable to find any "real" guitarist who would work with them, despite offers of In-N-Out gift certificates, they decided to keep the act a duo, relegating Tom to occassional guitar chores, for which he is paid twice the amount of the other band members. In July 2007, Stan discovered Craig Daniel, standing there all alone in line at a concert, and invited him to join Poplord to add his considerable guitar and vocal talents to the band. Tom was heartbroken, feeling he was really coming along on guitar, recently learning a new chord called "D minor". But that's life as they say. Strong melody, lyrics, and harmony, as well as inventive chord structure, defines Poplord's music. Their 11-song debut CD is available for order now!! No Kidding.
