About Me

And it wont stop yall till 4-5 winsA cocky statement? Maybe, but it wouldn't be the first the time the word "cocky" has been used to describe Ry-Know, Vero or SoS. Collectively known as the mighty 4-5.
Whether SoS was stuntin' or not, the line serves as a positive mantra for an independent team and as a way of life for three young, black entrepreneurs. Not only are they co-CEOs of Fortune Five Entertainment, but they are also the labels premier artists "Fortune Five" a.k.a. The 4-5.
The 4-5 movement began about 3 years ago when SoS and Vero who were already group members ended up in a series of freestyle battles with Ry-Know. The rivalry turned to respect, the respect then turned to collaborations. A couple group members and name changes later, Fortune Five was born.
Music world, brace yourself. Fortune Five is coming. They have already been profiled in the daily Toronto Metro newspaper and on urban lifestyle websites like Lechinosoul.com. Hot Collaborations with S-Banger, K. Jam and Houston, Texas's own King Rahim are only increasing their buzz. With the their full length debut Music & Push-Ups not far behind, it won't be long before you get "four fingers on your right hand and five fingers on your left hand".
The 4-5's debut album was given the unique title because of the groups philosophy on what it takes to make it. We decided to name the album Music and Push-Ups because when it comes to this music thing we gon work it out!!! says Ry-Know. Ready and willing to rep the T-Dot properly, Music & Push-Ups is an instant classic. Armed with just the right amount of ammo to appeal to all musical connoisseurs. Vero agrees, we got joints for everybody. Girls, backpackers, thugs, we didnt leave anybody out. And none of it is forced. If anything its nothing but as Sos puts it, raw, pure, unadulterated hip hop. Period. From the marching band funk of Be A Lady to the cautionary soul of Bye, Bye the three man fortune are definitely holding it down. Focused on creating cohesive albums without any filler material. Leaving no stone unturned, the theme of overcoming lifes struggle seems to be the theme throughout. Exploring the bond between man and woman is discussed in We Are One. That might be the most important song, weve done so far explains Sos. Because in hip hop today everybody is so concerned with being the man. Were all guilty of it. I think it takes balls to write a song like that in this day and age, reasons Vero. Its like saying its okay for us as men, especially black men to put our women on a pedestal, they deserve it. Despite the effort some may argue the club banger Young Pimpin as a contradiction. Never ones fearful of confrontation the group welcome all critics. Obviously some songs shouldnt be taken as serious as others, offers Ry. It all depends on how you look at it. Pimping to us is just going for yours, getting your grind on. Ladies is pimps too. That joint can apply to anybody. Regardless of opinions all should be forgiven once Where You Are drops. The uplifting track literally tugs at your heartstrings. I knew the theme I wanted for that song, as soon as I made it, states Sos. Exploring such themes as youth empowerment, black history, and family values Where You Are may be the most touching song on Music and Push-Ups.
People get ready, with a classic out the gate the hip hop world has some new contenders coming out the North. And that name is The 4-5!!!Get Your Own! | View Slideshow
